How does information get added to the Higher Education Compass? All information in the Higher Education Compass is entered and updated by the higher education institutions themselves. Three conditions must be satisfied in order for a university to present information in the Higher Education Compass: - The institution must be a German state or state-accredited higher education institution, - The institution's academic programmes must currently be in operation, - The academic programmes must be open to all persons qualified for higher education entry in Germany. Undergraduate programmes lead to a first higher education degree - often called a "bachelor's degree" - which qualifies holders to enter a profession.
