Introducing the new BLUE range of Harnesses from SpanSet.

Made in Australia these AS/NZ 1891.1 2007 approved premium harnesses are manufactured to ensure
comfort, safety, and practicality. the soft, breathable composite mesh and foam padding gives the harness
form, virtually eliminates tangling, and enhances the likelihood of correct fitting.
Standard Features - Code Description

1 Confined space attachment loops
Fully encapsulated loops to eliminate snagging and

minimise metal components in contact with the body.
2 Stainless steel easy glide buckles
Easy to adjust and webbing friendly. They do not

creep in use, and small as possible to minimise metal
contact with the body.
3 Composite foam/mesh breathable padding
Fits like a jacket and is virtually tangle free. Almost

impossible to fit incorrectly leading to safer
compliance. Leg pads dramatically increase comfort
should suspension occur.
4 Suspension relief straps
Should an operative become suspended and is still

conscious, simply join the two adjustable straps
together to form a loop into which the operative can
stand in order to further relieve the pressure on the
inner thigh and work the leg muscles to aide
circulation.
5 Soft construction
The hip is a critical pressure point when a fall occurs.

The presence of any metal component here can
increase the chance of injury, hence our soft
approach.

Safe and proven over many years to be the most

secure method of connection. These buckles have
no moving parts, no catches or springs to get
jammed by dirt, dust, or loose clothing. Corrosion
resistant, easy to adjust and sized to minimise the
metal to body contact.
8 Large D ring
Easy to locate and connect to. The large D is

always orientated correctly due to the design and
configuration of the webbing. It does not require
springs or gadgets to hold it in place.
9 Sub Pelvic Strap
The sub pelvic strap eliminates the potential to

peel out of the harness when falling backwards
in a crouched position, (when the folded body
allows the buttocks and upper legs to slip out of the
back of the harness).
Many harnesses do not have this feature or the
design is insufficient to retain the person in this
manner. Elastic harnesses can be particularly
vulnerable to this.
10 Front D ring rated for fall arrest
For ease of rescue.
7 Padded leg straps
Simplifies the donning by virtually eliminating twists

in the leg strap. Greatly enhances comfort should an
operative become suspended.

SpanSet values quality partnerships and have an agreement with the premium hydration experts
in Australia to incorporate the CamelBak reservoirs into our harnesses and miners belts.
CamelBak were chosen because of their rugged durability and flame retardant NOMEX
material. They are fully insulated to keep the contents cool or warm and feature Hydroguard,
Anti Microbial Technology which inhibits bacterial and fungus growth on reservoir and tube
surfaces, and makes cleaning easier.
The back packs are mounted and the tube positioned so as not to interfere with the D ring or
attachment points. They have full tear away capability should they get snagged or caught on a
structure and are fully removable for cleaning.

CONFINED SPACE
Our comprehensive range of confined space entry and egress systems
ensures total safety in the most extreme environments.
TRIPOD
The FP6600 series tripods are engineered with the user in mind. The aluminium legs are
made of square tubing for added lightness and required strength. The alloy head has an
integrated pulley system allowing a cable from a device to pass through the centre of the
head. This eliminates costly pulleys and allows one of the 2 eyebolts to be used as an
auxiliary anchorage. Retractable devices are mounted on the outside of the leg allowing
more room and manoeuvrability beneath the tripod.

for all your staff who wear Fall Arrest Harnesses
with Shock Absorbing Lanyards as long as you
are able to safely access their anchor point.
As part of your commitment to Risk Assessment you

are already aware that you have to protect your operative
from the hazard of falls from height. These regulations
apply to all workplaces and to all employees (also to the
self-employed and employees of a third party). If you were
to fully assess all the hazards and risks then you should
also have addressed the actions you require in the event
of a worker becoming suspended.
What exactly can the Gotcha do?
The idea of the GOTCHA is to provide a rescue

kit that will enable a rescuer to:
Attach a casualty who is suspended by a fall
arrest lanyard
Raise casualty in order to release their current
attachment
Raise or lower the casualty to a point of safety
This can all be achieved

without the need
to access the casualty.
What is suspension trauma?
Suspension trauma, or orthostatic intolerance,

is a natural human reaction to being upright and
immobile, where blood pools in the legs leading to
unconsciousness. It can be caused by suspension
in a harness (deliberate or accidental), when
trapped in a confined space, when secured to a
vertical stretcher or litter any situation where you
are forced to stay upright without standing. If it is
allowed to develop unchecked, it can be fatal.
In short, rescue must be made in as short a time
as possible.
