The Training, Our Way
THE RIGHT CONCEPT VS THE RIGHT IMPLEMENTATION
Which one should be achieved, understanding the concept or being able to implement it?
We prefer to target both. So the style of the training is to demonstrate the real-world
implementation of instruments just like professionals but at the same time also to
understand the concept correctly and thoroughly just like academicians.
ITS has a privilege of formal cooperation with some major players in instrumentation area,
such as National Instruments and Autonics. Hence at this training the instruments form
those brands will be used in demonstration. The demonstration is critical in understanding
the concept, for example about sensor characteristic, explained by highly-qualified
instructors based on some first-class text books and first-hand experiences.
The training sessions are very open for conducting discussions. Participants can present
certain cases based on work experience or other sources and the solution can be
discussed together with the instructors in the training sessions. It is also possible to have
deeper and further discussion or explanation about certain subjects based on participants
request.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
A University-based training.
ITS has formal cooperation (by MoU signing) with major instrumentation
vendors in the world such as National Instrumentation and Autonics.
Demonstration and practices based on rich knowledge of lectures and
presentations.
Flexibility in training subjects. We understand that some issues are more
important to some companies, hence it is possible to spend more time in certain
subjects of training without significantly reducing other training subjects.
Post-training guidance and counseling after the training. Any questions related
to the instrumentation training can be asked directly to us anytime. Just like our
training division motto: "one time training, a lifetime assistance". We are a
university-based training center, after all.
5 days training to give participants all the time they need to understand the
subjects, do the exercises and have as much demo and practical session as
possible.

REAL INSTRUMENTS
Not only providing boring lectures or dull
presentations, this training presents real
instrumentation equipments from some
major vendors in the world. It is quite
important for gaining understanding that
even though in theory the characteristic
of an instrument is similar but sometimes
there are some slight differences based
on brands.
PROFESSIONAL & ACADEMICIAN
STYLE
In practices, cases are presented in the
way of professionals or users using the
instruments. In concepts, explanations
are given thoroughly and correctly in the
way of academician analyzing the
instrument.
BETTER GUIDANCE SYSTEM
Not only taught by instructors,
participants of the training will also be
guided by assistants with special
qualification, especially in practice
sessions. These assistants are final-year
students who has research or lab work
experience in Laboratory of Industrial
Automation of ITS.
LEVEL OF PARTICIPANTS
Technician, Operator, Supervisor (with D3/S1 educational background or high-school with
some engineering experiences)

INSTRUCTORS AND FACILITIES
Instructor of the training are lecturers of Electrical Engineering department of ITS who
have teaching, research and consulting experience in industrial automation and
instrumentation.

WHO WE ARE
Control Systems Service Center (CSSC) is a service unit under Control
Systems Engineering division, Electrical Engineering department, Sepuluh
Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), Surabaya. CSSC provides training,
consulting and development services in many engineering areas. More
than 50 private & state companies and governmental institutions have
per-formed cooperation with the CSSC in the past 3 years.
As the need of high quality training and consulting increases in industrial
community, we prepare ourselves to be the continuous & long-term
