Shift Your Self-Perception

Feeling worthy requires you to see yourself with fresh eyes of self-
awareness, , and love. Acceptance and love must come from within.
You dont have to be different to be worthy. Your worth is in your
true nature, a core of love and inner goodness. You are a beautiful
light. You are love. We can bury our magnificence, but its
impossible to destroy.
Loving ourselves isnt a one time event. Its an endless,
moment by moment ongoing process.
It begins with you, enfolding yourself in your own affection and
appreciation.
Read on for steps to discover your worth and enfold yourself in
affection and appreciation.
1. Begin your day with love (not technology). Remind yourself of
your worthiness before getting out of bed. Breathe in love and
breathe out love. Enfold yourself in light. Saturate your being in love.
2. Take time to mediate and journal. Spend time focusing inward
daily. Begin with 5 minutes of meditation and 5 minutes of journaling
each morning. Gradually increase this time.
3. Talk yourself happy. Use affirmations to train your mind to
become more positive. Put a wrist band on your right wrist. When
youre participating in self-abuse of any form, move the band to your
left wrist.
4. Get emotionally honest. Let of go of numbing your
feelings.Shopping, eating, and drinking are examples of avoiding
discomfort, sadness, and pain. Mindfully breathe your way through
your feelings and emotions.
5. Expand your interests. Try something new. Learn a language.
Go places youve never been. Do things you havent done before.
You have a right to an awesome life.
6. Enjoy life enhancing activities. Find exercise you like. Discover
healthy foods that are good for you. Turn off technology for a day
and spend time doing things that make you feel alive.
7. Become willing to surrender. Breathe, relax, and let go. You
can never see the whole picture. You dont know what anything is
for. Stop fighting against yourself by thinking and desiring people
and events in your life should be different. Your plan may be
different from your souls intentions.
8. Work on personal and spiritual development. Be willing to
surrender and grow. Life is a journey. We are here to learn and love
on a deeper level. Take penguin steps and life becomes difficult.
One step at a time is enough to proceed forward.
9. Own your potential. Love yourself enough to believe in the
limitless opportunities available to you. Take action and create a
beautiful life for yourself.
10. Be patient with yourself. Let go of urgency and fear. Relax and
transform striving into thriving. Trust in yourself, do good work, and
the Universe will reward you.
11. Live in appreciation. Train your mind to be grateful. Appreciate
your talents, beauty, and brilliance. Love your imperfectly perfect
self.
12. Be guided by your intuition. All answers come from within.
Look for signs and pay attention to your gut feelings. Youll hear two
inner voices when you need to make a decision. The quiet voice is
your higher self; the loud voice is your ego. Always go with the
quieter voice.
13. Do what honors and respects you. Dont participate in
activities that bring you down. Dont allow toxic people in your life.
Love everyone, but be discerning on who you allow into your life.
14. Accept uncertainty. Suffering comes from living in the pain of
the past or the fear of the future. Put your attention on the present
moment and be at peace.
15. Forgive yourself. Learn from your mistakes and go forward.
Use this affirmation, I forgive myself for judging myself for
__________ (fill in the blank i.e.: for getting sick, for acting out, for
not doing your best.)
16. Discover the power of fun. Self-love requires time to relax,
play, and create face-to-face interaction with others. Our fast-paced
world creates a goal setting, competitive craziness that doesnt
leave room for play. Dr. Stuart Brow says, The opposite of play isnt
work, it is depression.
17. Be real. Speak up and speak out. Allow yourself to be seen,
known, and heard. Get comfortable with intimacy (in-to-me-see).
18. Focus on the positive. Go to your heart and dwell on and
praise yourself for what you get right in all areas.
19. Become aware of self neglect and rejection. Become
conscious of your choices. Ask yourself several times throughout the
day, Does this choice honor me?
20. Imagine what your life would look like if you believed in
your worth. Dedicate your life to loving you. Make it your main
event.
21. Seek professional help. Self-rejection and neglect is painful.
You deserve to be happy. You have a right to be accepted and
loved. If necessary, seek help from a support group, counselor, or
coach. Its the best investment you can make.

1. Stop comparing yourself to others. People achieve success and
fail at different rates.
2. Youre not as fat as you think. Besides, your body fat
percentage has no bearing on what makes you a quality human
being.
3. Exercise because it is good for your soul and not solely for
your outward experience. Appreciate your body and all the things
it can do. Stop picking it apart you will never achieve
perfection.
4. Find something at which you excel. Maybe you are really
amazing at working with kids and you just dont know it yet.
5. Spend more time with your girlfriends or guy friends.
Relationships may come and go, but friends are forever
cherish that.
6. Spend time alone. Its okay if you want to stay home on a
Friday night, catch up on your DVR and eat froyo because youve
had an exhausting workweek.
7. Read that book youve been meaning to read. In fact, read as
many books as possible. Reading expands the imagination and
sharpens the mind.
8. Spend time outside. Discover a new trail or a mountain to hike.
Soak up the sun.
9. Take a lot of pictures. Take way too many and dont forget to
print them. Dont let them just sit in your phone memory.
10. Let go of the past. Forgive the people who hurt you so that
YOU can move on. Carrying around anger only poisons you.
11. Reunite with old friends from high school, college and your
past in general. Let go of friendships that no longer serve you.
People grow apart; its natural and its okay.
12. Call your friends and family more often; dont just follow them
on social media. Remember when we used to have to call or
meet up with people to hear their voices? That experience is so
much richer.
13. Resolve the issues you might have with your family. Tell them
you love them. Show up to family events and dont have
something better to do.
14. Take vitamins because you want to be the healthiest version
of yourself. Unless you want to be cranky and lethargic all day,
make sure you get enough iron.
15. Treat yourself to something you want but dont need.
Whether its a fancy designer purse youve been eyeing for years
or a plane ticket to the destination of your dreams, remember
how fine the line between saving and living is. Toe it.
16. Care about your appearance not in a vain, superficial way.
Care about how you look, so you can feel great when you leave
the house. But, if you feel like wearing sweatpants and your hair
in a bun to the grocery store once in a while, go f*cking do it.
17. Watch that movie or that Netflix series youve been meaning
to see.
18. Be active. Exercising regularly releases endorphins and
contributes to your level of happiness and will help you feel
better about yourself.
19. Pick up a hobby. My roommates and I ordered paint-by-
numbers from Amazon. It made me feel creative and allowed for
some roommate bonding time.
20. Save up money and travel somewhere new. Try the sunrise at
the top of Mount Haleakala in Maui. You will literally feel like you
are in heaven.
21. Laugh at yourself. If you trip over your feet or realize your
shirt is on inside out, dont worry about it and make it a joke.
22. Do karaoke. Do it sober. Do it drunk. Sing. I read somewhere
that the more you sing, the happier and healthier it will make
you.
23. Eat less processed food. If you actually knew what was in that
sh*t, you would be disgusted. Watch the documentary Food
Inc. But, if you want to have fries, with extra, extra ranch
sometimes, do it.
24. Dance. Freak Dance. Weird Dance. Make up a dance routine
with your friends like you did when you were 12. Stop caring
about what you look like. Have fun.
25. Smile more. The more you smile, the happier you will feel. It
makes others happier, too trust me.
26. Do favors and dont expect anything in return from the
kindness in your heart.
27. Guard your heart, but be open. Dont let people take
advantage of you.
28. Be less judgmental. Be kind, for everyone you meet is
fighting a hard battle.
29. Look up at the sky. Realize that sunsets are gorgeous. Look at
the stars, as theyre pretty incredible, too.
30. You will never be able to please everyone. Not everyone will
like you. You wont like everyone you meet. Thats perfectly fine
also.
