Description
Are you looking for innovative strategies to
improve your leadership skills in an instructional
environment?
Join Andy Danilchick and Niki Harvey for this valuable program
and become empowered to:
Actively listen to and identify leadership that will build
leadership capacity within districts,
Unite staff around a common mission and vision and
Ultimately increase student achievement.
This program uses an emotional intelligence and a distributed leadership
framework to build leadership skills. The emotional intelligence (Goleman,
1996) framework increases resonant leadership and skills within the four
main Emotional Intelligence domains: self-awareness, self-management,
social awareness, and relationship management. The listening as
leadership framework enables opportunities for greater understanding of
the process of leadership, teaching, and learning throughout a district and
creates possibilities for further developing that leadership and success
A leadership consultant and teacher educator, Andy has coached
teachers and administrators and conducted many professional
development sessions on emotional intelligence. He was an English and
social studies teacher for over 15 years. Andy is currently a lecturer and
Humanities Strand Leader at the Graduate School of Education at the
University of Pennsylvania. He is also editor of the Perspective on Urban
Education journal.
Niki Harvey, an experienced classroom teacher and administrator, holds
a masters degree in both literacy and educational leadership. Her
current role as the Instructional Initiatives Coordinator with the
Innovational Educational Services Division at CCIU places her in a
position to serve as a true intermediary between PDE and the school
districts we serve. In this position Niki works as an educational leader
where her responsibilities include planning and implementing workshops,
institutes, and continuing professional education courses, facilitating
grants, leading councils and networking events and spearheading PDE
Initiatives.
