Subject: Firmware Update on product exchange service

1. Overview
The firmware for CP800 is updated to new version from late of J une.
Accordingly, this memo conveys the details of plans for handling it.


2. Details of firmware
2-1. Details
CINC released new firmware for CP printer. This new firmware contains new function on layout
settings and also contains improvement for ink/paper jam.
(Please see attached SI: AJ -0842 for more details)

New firmware version: 3.113

Old firmware version: 3.97

Therefore, when the firmware version of exchanged product is old version, it has to update to new
version before exchange.


2-2. Affected Units (Old firmware version product)
The product that was produced before J ul has old version firmware.
And the number of sixth digit from the right of serial number of that product is 1 or 0.
(e.g. XXXX1XXXXX) * Serial number is 10 digits.
(e.g. XXXX0XXXXX)

Note:
This number was changed to 2 on new firmware product.


3. Market Support
When doing product exchange, please confirm the serial number of the product that will exchange.

If the serial number shows that it is old firmware products, please update firmware
by mentioned procedure on last page before exchange.

If the serial number shows that it is new firmware products, please exchange without firmware
update.

Note:
We expect that most product stock is changed by new firmware products.
However, small number of old firmware products may be included in the stock of each warehouse.

Firmware Update procedure

<Required items for firmware update>
- Windows XP or Windows 7 Computer with the CP800 printer driver installed
- USB cable
- CP800_Update_Tool (Published on SIMS)

<Preparation for update>
Decompress CP800_Update_Tool.EXE file on PC.

<Procedure> * Also please confirm ReadMe file on Update_Tool file.
1) Checking the Firmware Version

(1) Connect the printer to a PC using a USB cable, and
then turn the printer on.
To start the software, double-click CPFVCv31B.exe
in the FVCv31B folder in the SELPHY CP Service Tool
CP800.

(2) Click Next on right screen

(3) The firmware version appears in the red frame.
After checking the firmware version, click the Exit button.

2) Firmware Update (When the firmware is not the latest version)

(1) Double-click CPUD0200.exe in the EC290FUD folder in
the SELPHY CP Service Tool CP800.
Then, click the Start button.





(2) The data will be transferred as below screen.






(3) When the following screen appears, click the OK button.
The software will be terminated.
The data will be transferred as below screen.

















After completing the firmware update, confirm the firmware version is changed to 3.113 with
CPFVCv31B.
