Electricity has changed our lives. Now, we are changing the face of electricity

Machines are increasingly sharing social web space (the evolving semantic web) with
people. This new internet is referred to as the Internet of Things (IoT). Today, machines
have begun communicating with other machines to process complex workflows. The
underlying know-how that is used to enable this is called machine-to-machine (M2M)
communication technology.

M2M is the way

The presence of machines on the web have exceeded the total human population. By
2020 there are expected to be 50 billion intelligent connected machines using the
internet.
Advent of M2M as an enabling technology will have profound impact on the lives of
human beings and also connected society at large. Therefore, Radius as thought
leader has adopted M2M as underlying technology for next generation solutions for
advanced metering infrastructure leading towards smart grid.

X4e Solution
The Xenius solution unlike other smart meters or AMRs is end-to-end smart grid
solution that can be deployed in modules i.e. AMR to AMI to Smart Grid and is a
seamless upgrade path.

Tariff Planning
Using the Xenius solution, a DISCO/utility can decide the rules of power consumption
on the basis of SLA based tariff, Time of Usage, Real Time Pricing, Source Based Pricing
or other profiling parameters.
Demand Side Management
Demand Side Management (DSM) is the scientific
control of consumer load management, usage,
demand and load balancing on RYB for achieving
better load factor and economy. The solution
enables the DISCO/utility to perform DSM
intelligently and almost without manual intervention
through the implementation of its rule engine.
Intelligent Disconnection/Reconnection Management
Using the Xenius solution, the DISCO/utility can monitor & control defaulting
consumers either automatically or manually. Control mechanism can be designed basis
power demand exceeding the prescribed limit, bills not paid, or other conditions.
Disconnection of either all or selected phases is possible.

Pilferage Detection and Handling

Conventional methods provide no means to detect
pilferage/overdrawing of electricity, as the detection takes
place only when consumption readings/billing is done.
The Xenius solution enables the detection of pilferage/
overdrawing in real time. Alerts are triggered and the
relevant locations identified as soon as any unscheduled
or unauthorized loads are identified on the grid.

Outage Management
For outages, the Xenius solution sends real-time
notifications, enabling DISCOs / utilities to be notified
even before the customer can call in and can be
prioritized for sensitive locations.
The solution also monitors restoration of power. After
a disaster"nested" outages due to cable breakage
might take place. The DISCO/utility may restore
power at the breakage point closest to the substation and not even know about the
second breakage further down the line. The solution monitors & alerts the
DISCO/utility repair crew to such situations.
Advanced User Interface for Consumer Management
Using the Xenius solution, the consumer can connect through web, smart device
apps, SMS, IVRS for monitoring their electricity. The consumer can be updated for ABT
(Availability Based Tariff) or Real Time Pricing (RTP) to optimize their consumption. The
user interface also provides the consumer with functionality to link ABT/RTP attributes
to the rule engine, thus handing over the
optimization of consumption to the DISCO/utility.
The XeniusTM solution is modular in design to
implement in phases from AMR to Smart Grid and the
existing energy meters with optical port can also be a

the investment and efforts already made.

Xenia Cloud provides additional services to your electricity management program.
The Xenia cloud component is considered for enterprise environments as a core
system that interconnects the customer's access and network infrastructure with OSS
and BSS systems.

Backup of Electricity Consumption Data

Xenia Cloud storage provides automatic and limitless backup for the data created by
your Xenius installation. In the event of any disaster resulting in local data loss, you
will still have access to all historic power consumption data.

Analytics Engine
The superior Xenia Cloud enterprise-class analytics engine can perform advanced
analytics on consumption data and present reports in
intuitive and simple graphical forms. When it performs
analytics for you, it uses this vast database to customize
reports and recommendations for you based on the huge
storehouse of gathered information. You benefit by
acquiring reports that are based on a larger base of
information, and hence possess a greater degree of
accuracy and analytics.

Remote Monitoring and Fault Location

Having access to Xenia Cloud enables the Xenius solutions to be monitored and
managed by the management from any geographical location across the world. This is
very helpful if the parent utility has utilities spread over diverse geographies and wishes
to integrate and centralize the energy monitoring and management functions under
one team; or if they wish to gather and create a common database of related
information for all geographies of operation. The Xenia Network Operations Center
(NOC) provides advanced enterprise class facilities to cater to such needs

Meter Data Management System (MDMS)

The Xenia MDMS will import the data, validate, cleanse and process it and makes
available for billing and analysis through industry standard interfaces. It automates and
streamlines the complex process of collecting meter data from multiple meter data
collection technologies. Evaluate the quality of that data and generate estimates where
errors and gaps exist, delivers data in the appropriate format to utility billing systems.

Integration with Xenius Solutions

Xenia Cloud provides an enterprise class layer for demands for an integral solution by
clients who have acquired multiple Xenius solutions such as Xenius 4 meters (X4m),
Xenius 4 buildings (X4b), Xenius 4 homes (X4h), Xenius 4 infrastructure (X4i), and
Xenius 4 vehicles (X4v). This integration is provided by the Xenia NOC.
