Integral 2007 to present
Promoted to Contract Manager. Manage contract portfolio with a value of
approximately £1.5 million. Responsible for mechanical and electrical engineers.
Motivate staff and ensure team spirit within the group. Delegate tasks to
supervisor/administration assistant. Attend meetings with clients, directors and other
managers. Investigate and resolve outstanding debts. Obtain additional work from
clients outside of the contract. Obtain quotes from sub-contractors as required ensure
works carried out in accordance with job request. Prepare and submit assets and
delapidation reports. Prepare, present and maintain records for tool box talks. Prepare
person profiles prior to interviews, interview new staff and submit appropriate
paperwork to HR. Carry out disciplinary interviews with engineers relating to client
complaints/work performance and make decisions as to the outcome. Ensure Health
and Safety procedures and in place and carried out, maintain records accordingly.
Programme and distribute work to mechanical and electrical engineers to carry out
tasks required under PPM contracts ensuring service levels achieved. Organise,
prioritise and submit quotes for reactive work. Distribute tasks to appropriate engineers
for emergency call outs ensuring response times met. Deputise for contract manager in
all aspects of his job. Attend meetings with clients and ensure queries/problems are
resolved. Monitor WIP reports to ascertain costs and job status are correct. Check staff
time sheets and resolve any issues. Identify and raise risk assessments/method
statements advising engineers and clients accordingly. Ensure correct equipment
required and processes carried out. Prepare and present H&S Tools Box Talks to
engineers. Produce people profiles ready for recruitment of staff and carry out
interviews. Present Company’s attributes to prospective clients, advising appropriate
person to submit tenders if applicable. Preparing tenders/assisting when appropriate.
Initially unable to access Vixen so could not monitor WIP reports therefore produced a
log for all jobs under the MTC which enabled all works to be monitored and reports
prepared for branch managers, directors or client. Upfunds/time extensions (especially
if A.P. required) could be identified and relevant paperwork raised within allotted
timescale. Attended meetings with our client and RAF management team. Prepared
quotes using appropriate Schedule of Rates (work could not be priced on an hourly
/material basis). Recruited appropriate staff. Prioritised and issued jobs to engineers.
Ordered materials and equipment. Ensured H&S procedures were carried out and on
site equipment callobrated. Prepared risk assessment and method statements for
approval by A.P. Persuaded client to allowed Integral to submit tenders for larger
projects outside of the MTC. Succeeded in winning the tenders for refurbishment of
one of the buildings, the emergency lighting in the Sargeants Mess and the underground
pipework for the district heating. Prepared tenders, relevant documentation required
and submitted within time scale. Took on the additional work of submitting prices for
completed works under the Schedule of Rates when QS left. Checking and authorising
time sheets.
Initially responsible for delegating electrical work to other electricians. Carry out repairs
under MTC contract. Requesting materials. Job was expanded to obtaining work from
client, assisting Contracts Manager in presenting reports, checking WIP reports and
confirming work complete. Ascertaining resource levels were adequate to cope with
volume of repairs ensuring target dates met. Ordering materials/hiring equipment.
Preparing and presenting Tools Box Talks on a regular basis.
