NodeB
in d2U V2 Node B
The RRH solution is based on digital NodeB (9326 d2U V2 for
example) and RRH60-21C.
The Distributed solution is composed of two optical interfaces
(refer to Figure 5):
The main interface located within the dNodeB.
The RRH, located on the remote site.
These two modules are linked by optical fibers, carrying UMTS
downlink and uplink base band digital signals, and OAM
information.

3.1.2 Daisy Chain solution
The daisy chain allows to connect RRHs on one single optical link
connected to the digital NodeB part.
Daisy chain RRH operates in sector mode, with a maximum of 6
cells per fiber link.
BTS is able to support 12 cells (carriers 2 sectors) => up to two
links in the above configurations.
For more details refer to the PEI document (Related Documents
on page 5).
3.1.3 Dimensions & Weight
The RRH60-21C is composed of:
The body.
The Solar Shield: Used for thermal protection. The shield cover
is assembled to RRH body on site.

4.0 Site Preparation
4.1 TMA Support (Optional)
RRH60-21C can support TMA in two different modes.
Current alarm mode:
TMA is powered and monitored (thanks to power supply current
sensing) through RRH AISG port, using external bias-tees and a
specific cabling (TMA Y-cable) as shown Figure 14
AISG mode:
RRH60-21C can support TMA through AISG:
In the future, RRH60-21C will support RETA through AISG.
This will require to install an AISG bias-tee on one of the two
feeders, and one AISG cable between AISG bias-tee and RRH
AISG port.

4.2 Ancillaries
4.2.1 Installation Principles
The RRH can be installed on a wall, a floor or a pole. The
supporting wall, floor or pole must be vertical (maximum tilt of
5%).
The pole mounting kits are designed to support pipes with
diameter from 50 to 380mm.
The kits are designed to be mounted alone and then hang and
lock the RRH on it.
The RRH has been designed to be carried by only one person.

4.2.2 Wall Mounting Bracket
The wall must be flat and vertical (maximum tilt of 5%).1 kit is
available, this kit to be used is wall mounting bracket/plate RRH.
The securing of this installation kit (Bolts, pegs) should be
supported by the customer, depending on the type of wall (hollow,
plaster, wood walls and concrete) each securing parts should be
correctly designed.
ex: Pegs (expansion bolt set) exclusively for a concrete full wall.
The securing system to the wall must satisfy the following
characteristics:
shearing: 120 daN (120 kg - 264.5 lb)
tearing: 120 daN (120 kg - 264.5 lb).

available ,this kit to be used is floor mounting bracket/plate RRH.
The securing of this installation kit (Bolts, pegs) should be
supported by the customer, depending on the type of floor each
securing part should be correctly designed.

4.2.6.1 Optical Transceiver
Two types are available according to SFP types:
Figure 20 Example of SFP optical transceiver:
SFP (SM)
SFP (MM)
The optical mode (SM or MM) is given by the distance between
the NodeB and the RRH:
Multi Mode (MM) fiber: One fiber carries the downlink signal
and a second one the uplink signal. The MM fiber is used for
short distance (<= 500 m (1640.4 ft)).
Single Mode (SM) fiber: Only one single fiber carries both
downlink and uplink signal. The SM fiber must be used for
distance up to 10km.

4.3.4 Feeders and Antennae System
The customer must foresee and install the antennae system and
the feeders. The antennae are installed in compliance with the
radio engineering studies by trained staff.
Jumpers are mandatory between the RRH and feeders in order:
To allow an easier installation: depends on the size of feeder
used, it might be very difficult to position correctly the feeder in
top of the RRHs RF connector.
To avoid excessive efforts on the RRHs RF connector: risk to
damage the connectors.
To allow easier maintenance operation.
For antennas lightening protection it is recommended that the
radio lines from the antennas to the RRH are grounded with
dedicated grounding kits. (as an example refer to Figure 27).
