1. Consequent on the disposal of writ petition by orders of the Honble High Court
Madras, made in WP. No. 32484 of 2013 dated 03.02.2014 and W.P. No.4420, & 6445
of 2011 dated 06.02.2014 among other things and directions contained therein, the
Pachaiyappas Trust Board has decided to go for further Recruitment of remaining
posts in the category of Assistant Professors/ Librarian/ Physical Director/Directress in
its Aided Arts and Science Colleges of Pachaiyappas Trust Board situated in Chennai,
Kanchipuram and Cuddalore for appointment against approved vacancies (2006/2007)
permitted to be filled up by Director of Collegiate Education, Chennai in various
subjects as per present UGC regulations and recruitment procedures prevails
/applicable as on this date. The posts will be filled up on the basis of Weightage marks
to be awarded for (a) Teaching experience, (b) Higher educational qualifications in the
subject, and (c) marks to be awarded in the Interview.
2 The estimate of Vacancies for the post of Assistant Professors (119) , Librarian (2)
& Physical Director (1) & Physical Directress (1). The college wise/subject wise
vacancies are narrated below :

4.1
Educational Qualifications :
Arts and Science
(a) All candidates other than SC/ST : Pass in Post-graduate Degree in the relevant subject
with a minimum of 55 % marks and a pass in the UGC/CSIR/JRF/NET/SLET/SLST/SET
as per UGC Norms in the relevant subject.
(or)
Pass in Post graduate Degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% marks and
Ph.D. in the relevant subject.

(b) For SC/ST candidates and all Physically Handicapped Candidates:
Pass in Post-graduate Degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 50 % marks and
a pass in the UGC/CSIR/JRF/NET/SLET/SLST/SET as per UGC Norms in the relevant
subject.
(or)
Pass in Post graduate Degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 50% marks and
Ph.D. in the relevant subject.

4.2 LIBRARIAN
(a) All candidates other than SC/ST : Pass in Post-graduate Degree in the Library Science
with a minimum of 55 % marks and a pass in the UGC/CSIR/JRF/NET/SLET/SLST/SET
as per UGC Norms in the relevant subject.
(or)
Pass in Post graduate Degree in the Library Science with a minimum of 55% marks and
Ph.D. in the relevant subject.

(b) For SC/ST candidates and all Physically Handicapped Candidates:
Pass in Post-graduate Degree in the Library Science with a minimum of 50 % marks and
a pass in the UGC/CSIR/JRF/NET/SLET/SLST/SET as per UGC Norms in the relevant
subject.
(or)
Pass in Post graduate Degree in the Library Science with a minimum of 50% marks and
Ph.D. in the relevant subject.

4.3 PHYSICAL DIRECTOR / DIRECTORESS
(a) All candidates other than SC/ST : Pass in Post-graduate Degree in the Physical
Education with a minimum of 55 % marks and a pass in the
UGC/CSIR/JRF/NET/SLET/SLST/SET as per UGC Norms in the relevant subject.
(or)
Pass in Post graduate Degree in the Physical Education with a minimum of 55% marks
and Ph.D. in the relevant subject.

(b) For SC/ST candidates and all Physically Handicapped Candidates:
Pass in Post-graduate Degree in the Physical Education with a minimum of 50 % marks
and a pass in the UGC/CSIR/JRF/NET/SLET/SLST/SET as per UGC Norms in the
relevant subject.
(or)
Pass in Post graduate Degree in the Physical Education with a minimum of 50% marks and
Ph.D. in the relevant subject.


4.4 GENERAL:-
(a) Candidates should possess the educational qualification prior to the last date of
Submission of application.
(b) Candidates should possess the Bachelor's degree from a recognised University,
under 10 + 2 + 3 pattern alone. No other order / pattern will be accepted.
(c) Preference / Priority will be given for the candidates who obtained UG/PG Degree in the
same discipline for the relevant post for which his/her candidature applied for.
(d) UG/ PG Degree / M.Phil Degree obtained through correspondence / Distance Mode will
not be considered for award of any weightage marks irrespective of their possessing
requisite qualification.

4.3 (a) All degrees should be from UGC/NCTE recorgnised universities only. The candidate
should have passed Tamil Language as Part-I or Part-II upto S.S.L.C (10
th
Std) and PUC/
Higher Secondary Course levels. If not he/she should pass Tamil language test conducted by
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission within two years from the date of his/her appointment.
(b) Equivalent Qualification
If a candidate claims that the educational qualification in the subjects possessed by him/her
is equivalent to though not the same as those prescribed for the appointment, he/she has to
produce the letter of equivalence issued by the competent authority i.e., Govt. of Tamilnadu.
However, the claim would be subject to the decision of equivalence committee constituted by
the Govt. of Tamilnadu and the decision of the Govt. of Tamilnadu.
(c) Employment Registration
Only those candidates who have registered in concerned Professional and Executive
Employment Exchange Office for the Assistant Professor / Librarian / Physical
Director/Directress on or before the last date for submission of online application and holding
the updated registration card are also eligible to apply for the post.
3. Age: Candidates should not have completed 57 years of age as on 01.07.2014 since the age of
superannuation is 58 years of age.
6. Reservation of vacancies: Reservations of vacancies as per Govt. of Tamilandu norms. 200
points Annexure II, apart from Backlog Vacancies notified distinctly in Annexure I(A),(B)
& (C)
7. Special Category Candidates: 1% for physically challenged, 1% for visually impaired and 1%
for Hearing impaired are reserved.
8. a) Physically challenged: Candidates should possess certificate in prescribed form issued by a
Medical Officer (not below the rank of Civil Surgeon) or Competent Authority for at least 40%
disability.
b) Visually Impaired: Candidate should possess a certificate in prescribed format issued by a
Medical Officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon for one of the following: (i) Total absence
of sight, or (ii) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (snellen) in the better eye with
correcting lenses or (iii) limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degree or
worse (one-eyed persons cannot claim reservations against Blind or PHO category).
c) Hearing Impaired: The Hearing impaired persons who are in possession of a National
Disability Identity Card and having the following qualities may be selected for the Assistant
Professors posts.
A person with hearing impairment should have functional communication skills for class room
teaching with or without assistance like sign language, create access as per Person with
Disability Act, etc., so that he can discharge his teaching profession without any hindrance.
This will be assessed by the ENT surgeon at the time of selection for the post.

8.1 Community Certificate: Permanent Community Certificate obtained from the under-
mentioned authorities on or before the last date for submission of the Application Form is
necessary for candidates claiming reservation category.
a) Candidates with Community Certificate issued by other than authorities from Tamil
Nadu will be treated as GT.
b) Married women should possess Community Certificate issued in her fathers name
only.
c) ST - Revenue Divisional Officer /Sub Collector/ Asst. Collector, dated after 11-11-1989
d) SC/SC(A) - Tahsildar of native Taluk of the candidate
e) BC / BC(M) / MBC/DNC - Headquarters Deputy Tahsildar or Special Deputy
Tahsildar
9. Availability of Application Form: All the candidates should apply Online registration in the
website : www.pachaiyappastrustboard.org
10. Recruitment Processing Fee: The Processing Fee is Rs.500/- for all the candidates except
SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates. For SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates
processing fee is Rs.250/-
10.1 Payment of Processing Fee : The candidates are requested to pay the processing fees of
Rs.500/- other than SC/ST and Differently abled persons/ As regards SC/ST and Differently
abled candidates they have to pay the processing fees of Rs.250/- in ANY Branch of INDIAN
OVERSEAS BANK for realization with Indian Overseas Bank Aminjikari branch, Chennai
Tamilnadu Savings Bank A/c. No: 000501000035317.
The prescribed remittance challan for the purpose of remittance of processing fee should be
downloaded first before filling up the online application from the trust website :
www.pachaiyappastrustboard.org The Journal number, date of remittance, IOB Branch Code
etc., should invariably be filled in the appropriate columns of the online application form. The
application could not be submitted by the candidates without above details.
10.2 Submission of filled-in online Application Forms: The applicants should apply through
online basis only. A copy of the filled in online Application Forms need not be submitted to
the Pachaiyappas Trust Board. The candidate may keep a hard copy of the application at the
time of interview / certificate verification in case of any clarification.

11. Scheme of Selection: The selection is based on the academic merit and ability,
experience in the relevant field and performance of the candidate in the interview. The
date of certificate verification and interview will be communicated through online / SMS
to their specified mobile number.
11.2 CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION: Candidates will be ranked Subject-Wise/Community
wise based on the information given by them. During Certificate Verification if there is any
discrepancy in the information provided, the candidature will be summarily rejected and shall be
subject to punishment of debarment for future recruitment. Hence, candidates are requested to
fill in the on line application form with great care, in conformity with original documentary
evidences in their possession.
11.3 INTERVIEW: Interview will be conducted by the Selection Committee to be constituted
under provision of the UGC Regulations for this purpose. At the time of interview, all original
certificates in support of community, qualifications, experience, etc. will be verified and in case
of any discrepancy between the certificates and information provided in the Application Form,
candidate shall not be allowed for the certificate verification and such the candidates will not be
considered for selection. They will be debarred from the future recruitment.

Selection will be made for the current vacancies as per rules in vogue.

All candidates should have the ability to speak and write in Tamil. The Syllabi to be adopted for
personal interview will be the latest UGC syllabus for each Subject.

12. No T.A. /D.A. will be paid for attending Certificate Verification and Interview.

11.1 EXPERIENCE
The Teaching experience will be taken into account only from the date of possession
of requisite qualification i.e ., P.G. Degree with UGC/CSIR/JRF/NET/SLET/SLST/SET/
Ph.D., and authenticated Proof should be produced at the time of certificate verification.

13. The Teaching Experience Certificate: (Counter Signing Authority)

a) The experience certificates will have to be furnished as supporting documents and
produced at the time of certificate verification.
b) The experience certificates of Candidates who worked / are working in Govt./Aided/Self-
financing Engineering Colleges should be countersigned by the respective educational
authorities / affiliating universities authorities.
c) Teaching experience in colleges for the relevant subject handled alone will be considered.
The Teaching experience will be reckoned from the date of passing of P.G. Degree with
UGC/CSIR/JRF/NET/SLET/SLST/SET/Ph.D. In case of any false certificate,
Pachaiyappas Trust Board will initiate legal proceedings against the Individual and the
Countersigning Authority. All experience Certificates will be verified by a Competent
authority of the Pachaiyappas Trust Board on the date of certification verification. The
responsibility of authentication and genuineness of the certificates rests with the
candidates. The decision of selection committee on the genuineness of the certificates
produced will be final.
14. General Instructions:
a) The applicant should note down the registration number while filling up the on line
application.
b) The candidates who are applying for more than one post has to submit separate online
application for each subject if he/she is qualified.
c) The fee should be paid as indicated in para 10.1 above only through the Challan, which can
be downloaded from our web site www.pachaiyappastrustboard.org
d) All column of challan should be filled manually by the candidates.
e) Candidates are informed to ascertain their full eligibility for the post to which they have
applied. If any mistake is detected at any stage during or after the recruitment and after
declaration of results, their candidature shall be liable for cancellation

f) In the matter of recruitment, the decision of the Selection Committee to be constituted under
provisions of the UGC regulations is final. Any representation for non-selection will not be
entertained.
g) The vacancies notified are only tentative and liable to be changed.
h) Canvassing in any forms will be a disqualification for selection
i) Applications containing wrong claims relating to category of reservation / age
/educational qualification will be liable for rejection.
j) Candidates should possess adequate knowledge of Tamil on the date of this Notification
k) All the particulars mentioned in the online application including Name of the Candidate, Post
Applied, Communal Category, Date of birth, Address, e-mail ID, Mobile number will be
considered as final and no modifications will be allowed after the last date specified for
applying online. Since certain fields are firm and fixed and cannot be edited, candidates are
requested to fill in the online application form with the utmost care and caution as no
correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained.
l) Candidates should carefully fill the details in the On-line Application at the appropriate columns
and click the SUBMIT button at the end of the On-Line Application format. Before pressing
the SUBMIT button, candidates are advised to verify each and every particular filled in the
application. The name of the candidate or his /her father/husband etc. should be spelt correctly in
the application as it appears in the certificates/mark sheets. Any change/alteration found may
disqualify the candidature.
m) Request for change/correction in any particulars in the Application Form shall not be
entertained under any circumstances

n) The candidate should read the instructions notified in the notification/advertisement before
filling up online application and also remittance of processing fees in the prescribed challan.
p) The register number should in variably be noted in all correspondence either online or
offline.

q) The date, time and venue for certificate verification/ interview will be intimated
through the call letter which could be downloaded from our web site
www.pachaiyappastrustboard.org, after scrutiny. The candidates are requested to visit
the website for updates and SMS in this regard will also be sent to your intimated
mobile number.

r) For any clarification, the decision of Pachaiyappas Trust Board is final and binding on
all concerned.
The Online Application can be filled upto 04 .03.2014 till 11.59 p.m. after which the link will be
disabled.
