CommScope Inc SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT

NOTICE REGARDING SOFTWARE ACCEPTANCE
IN THE EVENT THE SOFTWARE THAT COMMSCOPE IS PROVIDING CUSTOMER IS CONSIDERED SHRINK WRAP SOFTWARE, CUSTOMER MUST
READ THIS SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, OR USING THE SOFTWARE. IF CUSTOMER DOES
NOT AGREE TO ALL OF THE TERMS OF THIS LICENSE AGREEMENT, THEN CUSTOMER SHOULD NOT DOWNLOAD, INSTALL, OR USE THE
SOFTWARE. CUSTOMER MAY RETURN THE SOFTWARE FOR A FULL REFUND WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE FROM COMMSCOPE. IN THE
EVENT THE SOFTWARE IS IMBEDDED IN THE PRODUCT, CUSTOMER CONSENTS TO BE BOUND BY ALL THE TERMS OF THIS LICENSE AGREEMENT
UPON THE USE OF SUCH PRODUCT OR SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT.
LICENSE
Subject to the following terms and conditions, CommScope Inc ("CommScope") grants to the end-user Customer ("Customer") a nonexclusive, paid-up, nontransferable license
(unless approved in writing by CommScope) to use the CommScopes Invex.NxG, i.Scan, i.Send, i.Drive and Earth Station Antenna Controller software modules, feature
set(s) or feature(s), in object code form only, and related documentation (hereinafter, with the software, collectively termed "Software"), for which Customer has paid the required
license fees. Customer includes affiliates that it controls.
The foregoing license shall be subject to the following use restrictions:
1) Customer shall use the Software in its own business, solely on, with, or in one device or product of CommScope manufactured or installed by
CommScope.
2) Customer shall not reproduce or copy the Software, make or permit any change or modification, in whole or in part, in its original or any other
language, or permit anyone else to do so for any purpose except that Customer may (a) make one copy of the Software solely for backup
purposes, and (b) transfer the Software to a single hard disk provided Customer keeps the original solely for archival purposes, these
exceptions apply only to Software on diskette; Customer may not copy any programming provided inside any device or product manufactured
by CommScope.
3) Customer shall not modify, adapt, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, or otherwise reduce the Software to
human-readable form to gain access to trade secrets or confidential information in the Software (except solely to the extent applicable laws
specifically prohibit such restriction). Customer will not modify or create derivative works of the Software
4) Customer agrees not to integrate the Software with non-CommScope software without the advance written permission of CommScope.
5) Customer agrees not to remove any copyright or other notices from the Software and will reproduce all original notices on any permitted full or
partial copies of the Software, and on any copies of the Software, which have been integrated with non-CommScope software with the advance
written approval of CommScope.
6) Benchmark or other performance tests run on the Software shall not be disclosed to any third party without CommScope's prior written consent.
TITLE AND CONFIDENTIALITY
Title and all intellectual property rights in and to all Software licensed to Customer shall remain in CommScope. Customer shall not assign, transfer, or sublicense any of the
license rights granted to it by this Agreement without the prior written consent of CommScope. Customer acknowledges that the Software in source code form remains a
confidential trade secret of CommScope. Customer agrees that it will protect the Software and will take all steps reasonably necessary to prevent the disclosure of the Software to
any vendor or other person, firm or corporation. Electronic transfer of the Software except to make copies permitted by this Agreement is expressed prohibited. The Software is
copyrighted under United States copyright laws and international treaty provisions by CommScope. This paragraph shall survive expiration of this Agreement.
LIMITED WARRANTY
CommScope warrants that during the one-year Warranty Period (as defined below):
1) CommScope has the right to license the Software to Customer free of all liens, claims and encumbrance unknown to Customer; and
2) The media on which the Software is furnished will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use; and
3) The Software will substantially conform to its published specifications.
The "Warranty Period" means a period beginning on the date CommScopes ships the Software and ending on the later of (a) one year, or (b) the end of the
minimum period required by the law of the applicable jurisdiction. The limited warranty extends only to Customer as the original licensee. Customer's sole and
exclusive remedy and the entire liability of CommScope under this limited warranty is, at CommScope's exclusive option, to repair or replace the Software. In the
event CommScope is unable to correct material nonconformance with the Software within a reasonable period of time, CommScope will refund the purchase price
of the Software. Except as expressly granted in this Agreement, the Software is provided "as is". CommScope does not warrant that the Software is error free, or
that Customer will be able to operate the Software without problems or interruptions. In addition, due to the continual development of new techniques for intruding
upon and attacking software and networks, CommScope does not warrant that the Software, or any product, system or network on which the Software is used, will
be free of vulnerability to intrusion or attack.
The limited warranty defined above does not apply if the Software (a) is licensed for beta, evaluation, testing or demonstration purposes for which CommScope
does not receive a license fee, (b) has been altered, except by CommScope, (c) has not been installed, operated, repaired, or maintained in accordance with
instructions supplied by CommScope, (d) has been subjected to abnormal physical or electrical stress, misuse, negligence, or accident, or (e) is used in ultra
hazardous activities.
EXCEPT AS SPECIFIED IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED CONDITIONS, REPRESENTATIONS, AND WARRANTIES INCLUDING,
WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE,
NONINFRINGEMENT, SATISFACTORY QUALITY OR WARRANTY ARISING FROM A COURSE OF DEALING, USAGE, OR TRADE PRACTICE, ARE HEREBY
EXCLUDED TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY APPLICABLE LAW. TO THE EXTENT THAT AN IMPLIED WARRANTY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED IN CERTAIN
JURISDICTIONS, SUCH WARRANTY IS LIMITED IN DURATION IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS TO THE AFORESAID WARRANTY PERIOD. BECAUSE CERTAIN
STATES OR JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTY DURATION, THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO
CUSTOMER. THIS WARRANTY GIVES CUSTOMER SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND CUSTOMER MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS, WHICH VARY FROM
JURISDICTION TO JURISDICTION.
MAINTENANCE, TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND TRAINING
This Agreement does not require CommScope to provide Customer with any maintenance services (except for maintenance services provided under the
warranty), or any updates or new versions of the Software. Any updates or new versions, technical support, installation and training, if any, for or without
compensation, shall be subject to the terms of a separate pricing schedule/agreement.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES AND UNDER NO LEGAL THEORY IN TORT, CONTRACT, OR OTHERWISE, SHALL COMMSCOPE BE LIABLE TO
CUSTOMER OR ANY OTHER PERSON FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY CHARACTER INCLUDING,
WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE, COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION, OR ANY OTHER
COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES. IN NO EVENT WILL COMMSCOPE BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES IN EXCESS OF COMMSCOPE'S LIST PRICE
FOR LICENSE TO THE SOFTWARE OR THE RELATED PRODUCT, EVEN IF COMMSCOPE SHALL HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF
SUCH DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY CLAIM BY ANY OTHER PARTY. THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY SHALL NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR
PERSONAL INJURY IF AND TO THE EXTENT APPLICABLE LAW PROHIBITS SUCH LIMITATION. FURTHERMORE, SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE

6 CommScope Proprietary Andrew Measurement Solutions

EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, AND THIS LIMITATION AND EXCLUSION THEREFORE MAY NOT APPLY
TO CUSTOMER IN SUCH STATES.
EXPORT REGULATIONS
The Software may be subject to U.S. export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Act and its associated regulations, and may be subject to export
or import regulations in other countries. Customer agrees to comply strictly with all such regulations and acknowledges that it has the responsibility to obtain any
necessary licenses to export, re-export, or import Software.
TERMINATION
If Customer does not comply with all of the terms or conditions, or violates this License Agreement, CommScope may terminate this license and require Customer
to return the Software and related product. Customers liability shall include, but not be restricted to, all expenses incurred by CommScope in recovering the
Software and related product and all damages arising from Customers default. Upon termination for any reason or by any effect, Customer agrees to return all
copies of the Software and documentation upon request by CommScope, or with CommScope's prior consent to destroy all copies of the Software in any form,
and all documentation, and to provide CommScope with a certificate of destruction. Customer will forever thereafter cease using the Software or other confidential
information related to the Software, and to continue to refrain from disclosing it to any third party.
GOVERNING LAW
This Agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, United States of America, without giving effect to the principles of conflict of
law.
SEVERABILITY
If any provision of this Agreement is held to be unenforceable for any reason, such provision shall be reformed only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable,
and such decision shall not affect the enforceability: (i) of such provision under other circumstances, or (ii) of the remaining provisions hereof under all
circumstances. Headings shall not be considered in interpreting this Agreement.
NO WAIVER
The failure of either CommScope or Customer to enforce any rights granted hereunder, or to take action against the other party in the event of any breach
hereunder, shall not be deemed a waiver by that party as to subsequent enforcement of rights or subsequent actions in the event of future breaches.
ENTIRE AGREEMENT AND GENERAL
This Agreement represents the complete and exclusive statement of the covenants and understandings between the parties concerning this license, and
supersedes all prior agreements and representations between them. Only a writing executed by authorized representatives of both parties may amend it. THE
ACCEPTANCE OF ANY PURCHASE ORDER PLACED BY CUSTOMER IS EXPRESSLY MADE CONDITIONAL ON ITS ASSENT TO THE TERMS SET FORTH
HEREIN. COMMSCOPE AGREES TO FURNISH THE SOFTWARE ONLY UPON THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, AND NOT UPON ANY CONTRARY
TERMS CONTAINED IN ANY PURCHASE ORDER OF CUSTOMER.

i.Send Power
Note: When connecting a power cable to the i.Send front panel 12 VDC power connector,
the battery packs power switch is not in the circuit. The transmitter is powered on
by connecting the power cable and powered off by disconnecting the power cable.
To prevent damage to the transmitter, the power cable should be the last cable
connected before using the transmitter and the first cable disconnected to shut
down the transmitter.
The i.Send transmitter uses an internal switching type DC supply that converts input voltages in
the 11.0 VDC to 14.4 VDC range to the internal voltages required by the transmitter. This range
of acceptable input voltages allows the transmitter operation from a variety of sources such as
the included battery pack and vehicle power. The overall power consumption of the transmitter
is 10 Watts.
The i.Send transmitter can be powered using the battery pack alone, the battery pack with the
charger attached, or the 12 VDC front panel connector.
Battery Pack Alone: A fully charged battery pack will power the transmitter for
approximately four hours. Turn on the battery packs power switch located on the right
side of the transmitter to operate the unit using the battery pack. Turn off the battery
packs power switch to shut down the transmitter.

its power connector, the battery will charge. While the battery is charging, the
transmitter is also capable of operation. The transmitter will begin operation (in standby
mode) when the battery packs power switch is turned on and will continue to operate
until the power switch is turned off as long as the power supply or cigarette lighter
adaptor continue to provide power to the battery.
12 VDC Front Panel Connector: When DC power is supplied directly to the front panel
power connector, the transmitter will begin operation (in standby mode) immediately.
Since there is no power switch in the circuit in this configuration, the transmitter will
continue to operate until the power cable is disconnected.
Battery Pack
The i.Send transmitter is equipped with a removable battery pack as shown in Figure 2 below.

Figure 2: Battery Pack
To release the battery pack from the transmitter, slide the battery release to the rear
and slide the battery pack to the right (as viewed from the front). The battery pack has
an external tee machined into its mating end. This tee mates with an internal tee
machined into the rear of the transmitter. To attach the battery pack to the transmitter,
mate the internal and external tees and slide the battery pack to the left (as viewed
from the front) until it clicks into place.
The power switch is located on the side of the battery pack as shown in Figure 2 above.
This power switch is functional when the transmitter is powered by the battery pack or
by an external supply connected to the battery. This switch is not in the circuit when a
power supply is connected to the 12 VDC connector on the front panel of the
transmitter as shown in Figure 1 on page 12.

A test button is located on the rear of the battery pack. When the test button is pressed,
the LED meter indicates the level of battery charge remaining in the battery pack as
shown in Figure 3 below.

Figure 3: Battery Meter
The time to charge the battery is a function of the supply voltage and transmitter load.
o Charging a totally discharged battery using the AC power supply (nominal 11 VDC
output) with the transmitter powered off requires approximately four hours.
o Charging a totally discharged battery using the AC power supply with the
transmitter in standby mode (protocol and band selected, modulation enabled, RF
output off) requires approximately six hours.
o The time required to charge a totally discharged battery with the RF output on is
dependent on the transmitter settings.
o The time required to charge a fully discharged battery pack with the cigarette
lighter adapter will vary since it is dependent on the supply voltage provided by the
vehicle.
o The AC power supply is equipped with a dual color LED indicator as shown in Figure
4. When the transmitter is off, the LED indicates the charge state of the battery (red
= charging, green = charged). However, when the transmitter is powered on, the
batterys charge state cannot be determined by the LED indicator which may be
green or red.

Transmitter Software and Controller PC Setup
i.Send Transmitter Software
The I.Send transmitter installation CD or self-extracting zip download contains the files
necessary to install the transmitter GUI software on the target computer. The default folder
containing the files after installation is C:\Program Files\Nome. Simply insert the CD or double-
click on the self-extracting download and follow the prompts to install the software. Two
programs are included:
Nome: The Nome software is the control software used to configure and enable the
transmitter. The Nome application allows you to set the protocol (technology), band,
channel, and modulation characteristics of the transmitter. It also allows you to set the
power level and enable or disable RF transmission.
Yukon4k: The Yukon4k software is used to set the transmitters network configuration
for either wired Ethernet or wireless 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi operation.
Embedded Software: The Embedded software application is used to install new
embedded software into the transmitter. Please see the i.Send Transmitter Upgrade
Instructions topic on page 54.
i.Send Network Mode Selection
The i.Send transmitter is capable of operating in a wired 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet configuration
or a wireless 802.11 b/g configuration. When the transmitter powers up or boots, it checks to
see if an Ethernet cable is connected to the Data RJ-45 connector on its front panel. If the cable
is present, the transmitter communicates using the wired Ethernet connection. If the cable is
not present, the transmitter communicates using the wireless 802.11 Wi-Fi connection. To
change communication modes, the transmitter must be power cycled.
Transmitter Name and Default IP Addresses
The transmitters default name is DRT4302SNXXXX where XXXX represents the transmitters
serial number. For example, a transmitter with serial number 2175 would have the default name
DRT4302SN2175.
The default IP addresses as shipped are:
Wired Ethernet: 192.168.1.100
Wi-Fi: 192.168.2.100
Wired Ethernet Control
To use a wired Ethernet connection, verify that an Ethernet cable is connected to the Data
connector on the front panel when the transmitter is powered on. If the cable is not connected
on power up, the transmitter will select the Wi-Fi method for communicating.
The transmitter can be directly connected to a PC using the supplied Ethernet crossover cable or
connected to a network or switch using a standard Ethernet patch cable. When connected
directly to a PC, both the transmitter and PC must be configured to use a static IP address. The
recommended static IP addresses are 192.168.1.100 for the transmitter and 192.168.1.99 for
the PC.

20 CommScope Proprietary Andrew Measurement Solutions

In a wired Ethernet network, the transmitter can be configured to use DHCP (Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol) to automatically assign an IP address to the transmitter if a DHCP server
is available on the network.
Wi-Fi 802.11 Control
To use a Wi-Fi connection, verify that an Ethernet cable is NOT connected to the Data connector
on the front panel when the transmitter is powered on. The Wi-Fi interface operates in an ad-
hoc peer-to-peer configuration. It cannot be used in the Wi-Fi infrastructure mode. The Wi-Fi
must be configured as a static IP address, it cannot be configured to use DHCP. The transmitters
Wi-Fi can be manually configured to use a WEP key (Wired Equivalent Privacy) to encrypt
communications.
Note: The transmitters Wi-Fi must be configured as a static IP address, it cannot be
configured to use DHCP.

i.Send Transmitter Version 01.01.01 01.01.03 Upgrade Instructions
Introduction
The i.Send version 01.01.01 software and firmware upgrade for the i.Send transmitter provides
WCDMA technology support for the transmitter in addition to its GSM capabilities. The firmware
upgrade and software update consists of three primary steps:
4. Extract the files in the Options.zip file to a folder on the PC, copy those files to a new folder
named CopyOptionsToUnit, rename the Options.xml file, and upload those files to the
transmitter using the wired Ethernet connection.
5. Run the Nome Software setup to access the Embedded Software installer and install the
new firmware into the transmitter.
6. Install the Nome 01.01.03 transmitter control software on the PC to enable WCDMA and
GSM transmission.
Obtain the Version 01.01.03 Software and Options Files
The version of the Embedded Firmware and the version of the Nome GUI software must be
updated to operate the i.Send transmitter. The 01.01.01 through 01.01.03 versions of the Nome
software are capable of working with the 01.01.01 Embedded Firmware.
Options.Zip File
The Options.zip file is quite small (98 Kb) and will usually be sent to i.Send owners by email. A
number of files are included in the Options.zip file including Options.xml files that are created
specifically for individual transmitters by serial number.
i.Send Nome Software
The i.Send Nome 01.01.03 software is available for download from the following location:
https://awapps.commscope.com/AEDDocportal/nav.aspx?cid=1586
The file name is isend_010103.exe
A password is required to run the installation. Please contact Andrew Invex.NxG Support
(InvexNxGSupport@andrew.com) for the password. Please have the serial number of your
transmitter available when you contact the support team.
Copy Options Files to the Transmitter
1. Extract the Options.zip file to a new folder on your C: drive.
2. Create a new folder on the C: drive named CopyOptionsToUnit. The folder does not have to
be in the root of the C: drive but you will need to know the exact path to the folder.
3. Copy the following three files into the CopyOptionsToUnit folder:
CopyOptionsToUnit.exe
DRT4301InstallerUtilityDLL.dll
The Options.XML file that matches the serial number of the transmitter. The serial
number is located on the side of the transmitter as shown in Figure 67 on page 55. The

Andrew Measurement Solutions CommScope Proprietary 55
Options file name will indicate the serial number Options_2052_20090323.xml, for
example. Once the file has been copied into the CopyOptionsToUnit folder, rename the
options file to Options.xml.
Note: If the Options_xxxx_YYYYMMDD.xml file is not renamed to Options.xml and
placed into the CopyOptionsToUnit folder, the upgrade will fail.

Figure 67: Location of i.Send Serial Number
4. Locate the i.Send transmitter that is to be upgraded and connect it to the PC using the wired
Ethernet port on the front of the transmitter. The Wi-Fi connection cannot be used to
perform this upgrade. The cross-connect Ethernet cable supplied with the transmitter must
be used if it is directly connected to the PC. If a hub or switch is used, a standard Ethernet
patch cable can also be used.
5. Open a Command Prompt window by selecting Run from the Windows Start menu. Enter
cmd in the Open field and click the OK button.

Figure 68: Open A Command Prompt Window
6. Change directories to the CopyOptionsToUnit folder. The entire path is necessary. For
example if the folder is located in the Temp folder on the C drive, the command would be
cd C:\Temp\CopyOptionsToUnit followed by pressing the Enter key. See Figure 69 on page
56.

56 CommScope Proprietary Andrew Measurement Solutions

Figure 69: Copy Files to Transmitter
7. Ensure that the directory path is correct. On some systems, you may need to enter C: and
press Enter for the path to appear correctly.

Troubleshooting
When a transmitter is connected to a network, routers, firewalls, antivirus, and other utilities
may cause difficulties locating the transmitter on the network.
Locating a Transmitter on a Network
In order to install or update the embedded software on a transmitter or to use the Nome
software, the transmitter must be recognizable on the network so that the software on the
controlling PC can see the transmitter. It is possible for the transmitter to be properly
connected to the network but recognized by the Nome or Yukon4k software. One method of
locating the transmitter is to Ping the transmitter on the network.
To locate a transmitter using Ping, select the CMD function from the Windows Start
menu.

Figure 77: Select the Windows Run Command
Enter cmd into the Run dialog Open field.

Figure 78: Enter cmd and Click OK
Press the OK button to open a Command Prompt window.

Figure 79: Type Ping and Press Enter

62 CommScope Proprietary Andrew Measurement Solutions

Type Ping followed by a space and DRT4302SNxxxx (where xxxx represents the serial
number of the transmitter) for example, Ping DRT4302SN2175. The Ping command is
an Internet utility used to determine whether a particular IP address is reachable online
by sending out a packet and waiting for a response. In this case, it sends a packet to the
transmitter on the network and waits for a reply. The reply contains the IP address of
the transmitter.
Press the Enter key. In this case, it sends a packet to the transmitter on the network and
waits for a reply. The reply contains the IP address of the transmitter, which can be
entered in the Nome software.
Possible Causes that Prevent Locating the Transmitter
PC Firewall blocking IP Address
Antivirus software causing connection to fail
Attempting to use Wi-FI when controller PC is still connected to wired LAN
Attempting to connect with Wi-Fi when wired Ethernet cable is plugged into
transmitters front panel.
Programs shown in the following list have been reported to interfere when attempting
to connect to the i.Send:
o Checkpoint Securemate
o iPass Protocol
