DAQ GETTING STARTED
Read Me First:
NI-DAQmx and DAQ Device Installation Guide
Install your software before installing new hardware.
Install Application Software
Install NI application software, such as NI LabVIEW, or another application
development environment (ADE), such as ANSI C or Visual Basic .NET.
Refer to the NI-DAQmx Readme on the software media for supported
application software and ADE versions.
Back up any applications before upgrading software or modifying the
application.
Install NI-DAQmx
Install NI-DAQmx driver software before installing new hardware devices so
Windows can detect them.
1. Insert the software media. If the NI-DAQmx installer does not open
automatically, select StartRun. Enter x:\autorun.exe, where x is
the drive letter. Complete the instructions.

2. Register your NI hardware online at ni.com/register when
prompted.
3. The last dialog box opens with the following options.
Restart Later to install more NI software or documentation. If you
are using a MXI-3 link from a PC to control a PXI chassis, exit and
install the MXI-3 software, available at ni.com/downloads, before
using the DAQ device.
Shut Down or Restart if you are ready to install your device.
Restart if you are using a system running the LabVIEW Real-Time
Module. Download NI-DAQmx to the target using MAX. Refer to
the MAX Remote Systems Help by selecting HelpHelp
TopicsRemote Systems in MAX.
If you have problems installing your software, go to ni.com/support/
daqmx.
Unpack and Install the Devices, Accessories,
and Cables
Remove the packaging and inspect the device. Contact NI if the device is
damaged. Do not install a damaged device.
If you have more than one DAQ device to install, install them all now using
the procedure for your device type. If your system includes SCXI modules to
connect to DAQ devices, first install the DAQ components.
Caution The device is static sensitive. Always properly ground
yourself and the equipment when handling or connecting the
device.
For safety and compliance information, refer to the device documentation,
available at ni.com/manuals or on the NI-DAQmx software media.
The following symbols may be on your device.
This icon denotes a caution, which advises you of precautions to take
to avoid injury, data loss, or a system crash. When this symbol is
marked on the device, refer to the Read Me First: Safety and
Electromagnetic Compatibility document for precautions to take.
When this symbol is marked on a product, it denotes a warning
advising you to take precautions to avoid electrical shock.
When this symbol is marked on a product, it denotes a component
that may be hot. Touching this component may result in bodily
injury.

CompactDAQ Devices
Complete the following steps to install a C Series I/O module in a
CompactDAQ system:
1. Attach a ring lug to a 14 AWG (1.6 mm) wire. Connect the ring lug to the
ground terminal on the side of the NI cDAQ chassis using the ground
screw. Attach the other end of the wire to the system safety ground.
Additionally, attach a wire with a ring lug to all other C Series I/O
module cable shields. You must connect this wire to the ground terminal
of the chassis using the ground screw.
Caution If hazardous voltages, greater than 42.4 V or 60 VDC to
earth ground, are present, special safety guidelines apply. Refer to
the C Series module user guide before continuing.
2. Install C Series I/O modules. Squeeze both C Series I/O module latches,
insert each I/O module into an empty module slot, and press until both
latches lock the module in place. Refer to the C Series I/O module user
guide for more information, such as signal connections, safety
precautions, and module ratings.

3. If you have a USB cDAQ chassis, connect the chassis using the USB cable
supplied with your chassis to any available USB port on your computer
system. If you have an Ethernet cDAQ chassis, connect the chassis to your
network using a CAT5e or crossover Ethernet cable. Refer to the DAQ
Getting Started Guide for network configuration information.
4. Connect the power source to the chassis. Most cDAQ chassis require an
external power supply that meets the specifications listed in the chassis
user documentation.

PCI and PCI Express Devices
Complete the following steps to install a PCI and PCI Express device:
1. Power off and unplug the computer.
2. Remove the computer cover and/or the expansion slot cover.
3. Touch any metal part of the computer to discharge any static electricity.

4. Insert the device into the applicable PCI/PCI Express system slot. Gently
rock the device into place. Do not force the device into place.
Per the PCI standard, NI PCI DAQ devices with the Universal
PCI connector are supported in PCI-compliant buses, including PCI-X.
You cannot install PCI Express devices in PCI slots and vice versa.
PCI Express devices support up-plugging into a PCI Express slot of
higher lane width. For guidelines, refer to ni.com/pciexpress.
5. Secure the device mounting bracket to the computer back panel rail.
6. (Optional) On NI M and X Series PCI Express devices, such as the
NI PCIe-625x/635x, connect the PC and the device disk drive power
connectors. Refer to the device user manual on the NI-DAQmx media for
when to use the disk drive power connector. Use a disk drive power
connector that is not in the same power chain as the hard drive.

Connecting or disconnecting the disk drive power connector can affect
the analog performance of your device. To compensate for this,
NI recommends that you self-calibrate the PCI Express DAQ device in
MAX after connecting or disconnecting the disk drive power connector;
refer to the DAQ Getting Started Guide. Open the DAQ Getting Started
Guide from the Start menu or (Windows 8) NI Launcher.
7. Replace the computer cover, if applicable.
8. Plug in and power on your computer.
PXI and PXI Express Devices
Complete the following steps to install a PXI and PXI Express device:
1. Power off and unplug the PXI/PXI Express chassis. Refer to your chassis
manual to install or configure the chassis.
Caution Refer to the Read Me First: Safety and Electromagnetic
Compatibility with your PXI/PXI Express chassis or device before
removing covers or connecting or disconnecting signal wires.

2. Identify a supported PXI/PXI Express slot in the chassis. Some devices
have PXI/PXI Express slot requirements; for information, refer to the
device documentation.

If you are using a PXI Express chassis, you can place PXI devices in
the PXI slots. If a PXI device is hybrid slot compatible, you can use the
PXI Express Hybrid slots. PXI Express devices can be placed only
in PXI Express slots and PXI Express Hybrid slots. Refer to the chassis
documentation for details.
3. Remove the filler panel of an unused PXI/PXI Express slot.
4. Touch any metal part of the chassis to discharge static electricity.
5. Ensure that the PXI/PXI Express module injector/ejector handle is not
latched and swings freely.
6. Place the PXI/PXI Express module edges into the module guides at the
top and bottom of the chassis.
7. Slide the device into the PXI/PXI Express slot to the rear of the chassis.
8. When you begin to feel resistance, pull up on the injector/ejector handle
to latch the device.
9. Secure the device front panel to the chassis using the front-panel
mounting screws.
10. Plug in and power on your PXI/PXI Express chassis.
USB Devices
You must be an Administrator to install NI software and devices on your
computer. Complete these steps to install an NI device for USB:
1. Make power connections.
If you are using the BP-1 battery pack, install it as described in your
BP-1 installation guide.
Some NI devices for USB require external power. If your device has
an external power supply, verify that the voltage on the external
power supply, if any, matches the voltage in your area (for example,
120 or 230 VAC) and the voltage required by your device.

2. Connect the power supply or power cord to an electrical outlet and your
device.
3. Connect the cable from the computer USB port or from any other hub to
any available USB port on the device.
4. If you have a USB device with a power switch, power on the device.
The computer should immediately detect your device.
When the computer recognizes a USB device, the LED on the device blinks
or lights up. Refer to the device documentation for LED pattern descriptions.
Windows Device Recognition
Windows versions earlier than Windows Vista recognize newly installed
devices when the computer restarts. Vista installs device software
automatically. If the Found New Hardware wizard opens, Install the
software automatically as recommended for each device.
NI Device Monitor
After Windows detects newly installed NI USB devices, NI Device Monitor
runs automatically at startup.
Make sure the NI Device Monitor icon, shown at left, is visible in the
taskbar notification area. Otherwise, the NI Device Monitor does not
open. To turn the NI Device Monitor on, unplug your device, restart
NI Device Monitor, and plug in your device. Launch NI Device
Monitor from the Start menu or (Windows 8) from NI Launcher.
The NI Device Monitor prompts you to select from the following options.
These options may vary, depending on the devices and software installed on
your system.
Begin a Measurement with This Device Using
NI SignalExpressOpens an NI-DAQmx step that uses the channels
from your device in SignalExpress.
Begin an Application with This Device Using
NI LabVIEWLaunches LabVIEW. Choose this option if you have
already configured your device in MAX.
Run Test PanelsLaunches MAX test panels for your device.
Configure and Test This DeviceOpens MAX.
Take No ActionRecognizes your device but does not launch an
application.

The following features are available by right-clicking the NI Device Monitor
icon:
Run at StartupRuns NI Device Monitor at system startup (default).
Clear All Device AssociationsSelect to clear all actions set by the
Always Take This Action checkbox in the device auto-launch dialog box.
CloseTurns off NI Device Monitor. To turn on NI Device Monitor,
launch NI Device Monitor from the Start menu or (Windows 8) from
NI Launcher.
Accessories
Install accessories and/or terminal blocks according to the instructions in
their installation guides. For SCXI and SCC signal conditioning systems,
continue with the instructions in the DAQ Getting Started Guide.
Troubleshooting
If you have problems installing your software, go to ni.com/support/
daqmx. For hardware troubleshooting, go to ni.com/support and enter
your device name, or go to ni.com/kb.
If you need to return your National Instruments hardware for repair or device
calibration, go to ni.com/info and enter rdsenn to start the Return
Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process.
Go to ni.com/info and enter rddq8x for a complete listing of the
NI-DAQmx documents and their locations.

Priphriques CompactDAQ
Effectuez les tapes suivantes pour installer un module dE/S de la srie C
dans un systme CompactDAQ :
1. Attachez une bague de retenue un cble 14 AWG (1,6 mm). laide de
la vis de masse, connectez la bague de retenue au terminal de masse sur
le ct du chssis NI cDAQ. Attachez lautre extrmit du fil la masse
du systme.
De plus, attachez un fil avec une bague de retenue tous les autres
blindages des cbles du module dE/S de la srie C. Vous devez connecter
ce fil au terminal de masse du chssis en utilisant la vis de masse.
Attention En prsence de tensions dangereuses suprieures 42,4
V ou 60 VDC la masse, des consignes de scurit spciales
sappliquent. Reportez-vous au guide de lutilisateur du module de
srie C avant de continuer.
2. Installez les modules dE/S de srie C. Pincez les deux dispositifs de
verrouillage du module dE/S de srie C, insrez chaque module dans un
emplacement vide et appuyez jusqu ce que le module soit verrouill en
place. Reportez-vous au guide de lutilisateur du module dE/S de la srie
C pour obtenir des informations supplmentaires, notamment sur la
connexion de signaux, les mesures de scurit et les spcifications
lectriques du module.

3. Si vous avez un chssis cDAQ USB, connectez-le un port USB
disponible de votre systme informatique en utilisant le cble USB fourni
avec le chssis. Si vous avez un chssis cDAQ Ethernet, connectez-le
votre rseau en utilisant un cble Ethernet crois ou CAT5e.

Reportez-vous au Guide dinitiation DAQ pour obtenir des informations
de configuration rseau.
4. Connectez la source dalimentation au chssis. La plupart des chssis
cDAQ requirent une alimentation externe qui rpond aux spcifications
rpertories dans la documentation utilisateur du chssis.
Priphriques PCI et PCI Express
Effectuez les tapes suivantes pour installer une carte PCI ou PCI Express :
1. Mettez lordinateur hors tension et dbranchez-le.
2. Ouvrez le botier de votre ordinateur et/ou le cache de lemplacement
dextension.
3. Touchez une partie mtallique de lordinateur pour dcharger llectricit
statique.

4. Insrez la carte dans lemplacement systme PCI/PCI Express appropri.
Faites-la basculer doucement pour quelle se mette compltement en
place. Ne forcez pas sur la carte pour lenficher dans son emplacement.
Conformment la norme PCI, les cartes DAQ NI PCI qui possdent un
connecteur Universal PCI sont supportes par les bus conformes PCI, y
compris PCI-X. Vous ne pouvez pas installer de cartes PCI Express dans
des emplacements PCI et vice versa. Les cartes PCI Express peuvent tre
enfiches dans un emplacement PCI Express plus large. Pour obtenir des
directives, reportez-vous ni.com/pciexpress/f.
5. Fixez le support de fixation de la carte au rail du panneau arrire de
lordinateur.

6. (Facultatif) Sur les cartes NI PCI Express des sries M et X, comme les
cartes NI PCIe-625x/635x, branchez le connecteur dalimentation du PC
celui de lecteur de disque de la carte. Reportez-vous au manuel de
lutilisateur du priphrique sur le mdia de NI-DAQmx pour savoir
quand utiliser le connecteur dalimentation de lecteur de disque. Utilisez
un connecteur dalimentation de lecteur de disque qui ne se trouve pas sur
la mme chane dalimentation que le disque dur.

La connexion ou dconnexion du connecteur dalimentation de lecteur de
disque peut affecter les performances analogiques de votre carte. Pour
compenser, NI vous recommande dauto-talonner le priphrique DAQ
PCI Express dans MAX aprs avoir connect ou dconnect le
connecteur dalimentation de lecteur de disque ; reportez-vous au Guide
dinitiation DAQ. Ouvrez le Guide dinitiation DAQ partir du menu
Dmarrer ou du Lanceur dapplications NI (Windows 8).
7. Refermez le botier de lordinateur.
8. Branchez votre ordinateur et mettez-le sous tension.
Priphriques PXI et PXI Express
Effectuez les tapes suivantes pour installer une carte PCI et une carte
PCI Express :
1. Mettez le chssis PXI/PXI Express hors tension et dbranchez-le.
Reportez-vous au manuel qui accompagne le chssis pour installer ou
configurer celui-ci.
Attention Reportez-vous au document Read Me First: Safety and
Electromagnetic Compatibility qui accompagne votre priphrique
ou chssis PXI/PXI Express avant douvrir le chssis, ou de
connecter ou dconnecter des cbles de signal.

2. Identifiez un emplacement PXI/PXI Express support dans le chssis.
Certains priphriques ont des spcifications prcises en ce qui concerne
lemplacement PXI/PXI Express ; pour en savoir plus, reportez-vous la
documentation du priphrique.

Si vous utilisez un chssis PXI Express, vous pouvez installer les
priphriques PXI dans les emplacements PXI. Si un priphrique PXI
est compatible avec les emplacements hybrides, vous pouvez utiliser les
emplacements PXI Express hybrides. Les priphriques PXI Express ne
peuvent tre logs que dans les emplacements PXI Express et
PXI Express hybrides. Reportez-vous la documentation du chssis pour
plus de prcisions.
3. Retirez le cache de protection dun emplacement PXI/PXI Express vide.

4. Touchez une partie mtallique du chssis pour dcharger llectricit
statique.
5. Vrifiez que le dispositif dinsertion/jection du module
PXI/PXI Express nest pas verrouill et noffre aucune rsistance
lorsquil est actionn.
6. Placez les bords du module PXI/PXI Express dans les guides de module
en haut et en bas du chssis.
7. Faites glisser le priphrique dans lemplacement PXI/PXI Express
jusquau fond du chssis.
8. Ds que vous sentez une rsistance, relevez le dispositif
dinsertion/jection pour verrouiller le priphrique.
9. Fixez le panneau avant du priphrique au chssis laide des vis de
montage du panneau avant.
10. Branchez le chssis PXI/PXI Express et mettez-le sous tension.
Priphriques USB
Vous devez avoir des droits dadministrateur pour installer les logiciels et les
priphriques NI sur votre ordinateur. Excutez ces tapes pour installer un
priphrique NI de type USB :
1. Effectuez les connexions dalimentation.
Si vous utilisez un pack batterie BP-1, installez-le suivant les
instructions de votre guide dinstallation BP-1.
Certains priphriques NI de type USB ncessitent une alimentation
externe. Si votre priphrique utilise une alimentation externe,
assurez-vous que la tension sur le bloc dalimentation externe, le cas
chant, est compatible avec la tension secteur de votre rgion (par
exemple, 120 ou 230 Vca) et avec la tension exige par votre
priphrique.
2. Connectez le bloc dalimentation ou le cordon dalimentation une prise
lectrique et votre priphrique.
3. Connectez le cble branch dans le port USB de lordinateur ou tout autre
concentrateur un port USB disponible du priphrique.
4. Si votre priphrique USB est quip dun bouton dalimentation,
mettez-le sous tension. Lordinateur devrait dtecter immdiatement
votre priphrique.
Lorsque lordinateur reconnat un priphrique USB, le tmoin LED du
priphrique clignote ou sallume. Reportez-vous la documentation sur le
priphrique pour obtenir une explication des tats de la LED.
Reconnaissance de priphriques sous Windows
Les versions de Windows antrieures Windows Vista reconnaissent les
priphriques qui viennent dtre installs au dmarrage de lordinateur.
Vista installe automatiquement les drivers de priphriques. Si lAssistant
Nouveau matriel dtect souvre, slectionnez Installer le logiciel
automatiquement pour chaque priphrique, comme recommand.
Moniteur de priphriques NI
Lorsque Windows dtecte que des priphriques USB NI viennent dtre
installs, le Moniteur de priphriques NI sexcute automatiquement au
redmarrage.
Vrifiez que licne du Moniteur de priphriques NI, reprsente
gauche, est visible dans la zone de notification de la barre des tches.
Sinon, le Moniteur de priphriques NI ne souvrira pas. Pour lancer
le Moniteur de priphriques NI, dconnectez le priphrique,
redmarrez le Moniteur de priphriques NI et reconnectez le
priphrique. Lancez le Moniteur de priphriques NI partir du
menu Dmarrer ou du Lanceur dapplications NI (Windows 8).
Le Moniteur de priphriques NI vous demande de slectionner parmi les
options suivantes. Ces options varient en fonction des priphriques et des
logiciels qui sont installs sur votre systme.
Commencer une mesure en utilisant ce priphrique avec
NI SignalExpress Ouvre une tape NI-DAQmx qui utilise les voies
de votre priphrique dans SignalExpress.
Commencer une application avec ce priphrique en utilisant
NI LabVIEW Lance LabVIEW. Choisissez cette option si vous avez
dj configur votre priphrique dans MAX.
Afficher les panneaux de test Lance les panneaux de test MAX pour
votre priphrique.
Configurer et tester ce priphrique Ouvre MAX.
Ne rien faire Reconnat votre priphrique, mais ne lance pas
dapplication.
Pour accder aux fonctionnalits suivantes, cliquez avec le bouton droit sur
licne du Moniteur de priphriques NI :
Excuter au dmarrage Lance le Moniteur de priphriques NI au
dmarrage du systme (paramtrage par dfaut).
Rinitialiser les actions associes aux priphriques Slectionnez
cette option pour annuler toutes les actions dfinies par la case Toujours
effectuer cette action dans la bote de dialogue de lancement
automatique de priphriques.
Fermer Arrte le Moniteur de priphriques NI. Vous pouvez lancer
le Moniteur de priphriques NI partir du menu Dmarrer ou du
Lanceur dapplications NI (Windows 8).

Installez les accessoires et/ou les blocs de connexion en suivant les
instructions fournies dans leur guide dinstallation respectif. Pour les

Installieren Sie stets zuerst Ihre Software, bevor Sie neue Gerte anschlieen.
Installieren der Entwicklungsumgebung
Installieren Sie eine Entwicklungsumgebung von National Instruments, wie
NI LabVIEW, oder eine andere Entwicklungsumgebung, wie ANSI C oder
Visual Basic .NET. Angaben zu untersttzten Entwicklungsumgebungen und
Versionen finden Sie in der Readme zu NI-DAQ auf dem Datentrger.
Sichern Sie Ihre Applikationen, bevor Sie Upgrades durchfhren oder an den
Applikationen arbeiten.
Installieren von NI-DAQmx
Installieren Sie den NI-DAQmx-Treiber stets vor dem Anschlieen neuer
Gerte, da die Gerte sonst nicht automatisch erkannt werden.
1. Legen Sie den Datentrger ein. Wenn der Installationsassistent nicht
automatisch gestartet wird, whlen Sie StartAusfhren. Geben Sie
x:\autorun.exe ein (x steht fr den Laufwerksbuchstaben). Folgen
Sie den Anweisungen.
2. Registrieren Sie bei entsprechender Aufforderung Ihre NI-Hardware
unter ni.com/register.
3. Das letzte Dialogfeld enthlt folgende Optionen:
Neustart spter sollte ausgewhlt werden, wenn Sie weitere
Software oder Dokumentation von National Instruments installieren
mchten. Wenn Ihr PC ber MXI-3 mit einem PXI-Chassis verbun-
den ist, verlassen Sie das Programm und installieren Sie die MXI-3-
Software, die bei Bedarf von der Website ni.com/downloads her-
untergeladen werden kann.
Herunterfahren oder Neustart sollte ausgewhlt werden, wenn
alles zum Anschlieen der Gerte bereit ist.
Neustart ist bei Systemen mit dem LabVIEW Real-Time Module
auszuwhlen. bertragen Sie dann NI-DAQmx mit Hilfe des MAX
auf das Echtzeitsystem. Die Vorgehensweise dazu ist in der
Installationsanleitung fr NI-DAQmx und DAQ-Gerte 20 ni.com

Auspacken und Installieren der Gerte, Zusatz-
bauteile und Kabel
Packen Sie das Gert aus und untersuchen Sie es. Sollte das Gert schadhaft
erscheinen, setzen Sie sich bitte mit uns in Verbindung. Schlieen Sie auf
keinen Fall ein defektes Gert an!
Bauen Sie alle vorhandenen DAQ-Gerte wie hier beschrieben ein. SCXI-
Module werden im Anschluss an die DAQ-Komponenten angeschlossen.
Vorsicht! Das Gert muss vor elektrostatischen Entladungen
geschtzt werden. Erden Sie sich und die verwendeten Werkzeuge,
bevor Sie das Gert anfassen oder anschlieen.
Sicherheitshinweise und Informationen zur Einhaltung von Sicherheits-
standards finden Sie in den Beschreibungen der einzelnen Gerte auf
ni.com/manuals oder auf dem NI-DAQmx-Datentrger.
Auf Ihrem Gert knnen folgende Symbole aufgedruckt sein:
Mit diesem Symbol wird vor Datenverlust, Systemabsturz und Ver-
letzungen gewarnt. Welche Vorsichtsmanahmen bei Produkten mit
diesem Symbol zu treffen sind, wird im Faltblatt Read Me First:
Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility erlutert.
Wenn ein Produkt mit diesem Symbol gekennzeichnet ist, besteht die
Gefahr eines elektrischen Schlags.
Bei Produkten mit diesem Symbol kann eines der Bauteile hei wer-
den. Bei Berhrung besteht Verletzungsgefahr.
CompactDAQ
Gehen Sie zum Einbau von C-Serien-Modulen in ein CompactDAQ-Chassis
wie folgt vor:
1. Bringen Sie an einem 1,6 mm dicken Draht einen Kabelschuh an.
Schrauben Sie den Kabelschuh dann mit der mitgelieferten Schraube am
Erdanschluss an der Lngsseite des NI-cDAQ-Chassis fest. Erden Sie das
andere Ende des Drahts.
Verbinden Sie die Kabelabschirmungen jedes C-Serien-Moduls mit
einem Draht, an dem ein Kabelschuh angebracht ist. Befestigen Sie
diesen Draht ebenfalls mit der mitgelieferten Schraube am Erdanschluss
des Chassis.

Vorsicht! Bei gefhrlichen Spannungen sind bestimmte Sicher-
heitsrichtlinien einzuhalten. Als gefhrlich gelten alle Gleich-
spannungen ber 42,4 Volt und alle Wechselspannungen ber
60 Volt. Lesen Sie dazu die Bedienungsanleitung des Moduls.
2. Bauen Sie nun die Module ein. Drcken Sie beide Hebel eines Moduls
nach unten, schieben Sie es in einen leeren Steckplatz und drcken Sie,
bis das Modul einrastet. Weitere Informationen (z. B. ber die Modul-
kategorien, Signaleingnge und die geltenden Sicherheitsbestimmungen)
finden Sie in der Bedienungsanleitung des Moduls.

3. Bei Verwendung eines cDAQ-Chassis mit USB-Anschluss schlieen Sie
das Chassis mit dem mitgelieferten USB-Kabel an den USB-Anschluss
des Computers an. Ein cDAQ-Chassis mit Ethernet-Anschluss ist ber
ein Ethernet-Kabel der Kategorie 5 oder ein Crosskabel mit dem Netz-
werk zu verbinden. Informationen zur erforderlichen Netzwerkkonfigu-
ration finden Sie im Dokument Erste Schritte mit NI-DAQ.
4. Stecken Sie den Netzstecker des Chassis ein. Fr die meisten cDAQ-
Chassis ist eine externe Stromversorgung notwendig, die den in der
Chassis-Dokumentation aufgefhrten Spezifikationen entspricht.
PCI und PCI Express
Gehen Sie zum Einstecken von PCI- und PCI-Express-Karten wie folgt vor:
1. Schalten Sie den Computer aus und ziehen Sie den Netzstecker.
2. Nehmen Sie das Computergehuse bzw. die Abdeckung des Erweite-
rungssteckplatzes ab.
3. Berhren Sie ein Metallteil des Computers, um sich elektrostatisch zu
erden.

4. Fhren Sie die Karte in den PCI- bzw. PCI-Express-Steckplatz ein und
drcken Sie sie hinein. Wenden Sie keine Gewalt an!
NI-PCI-Datenerfassungskarten mit universellem PCI-Steckverbinder
sind entsprechend dem PCI-Standard mit allen PCI-fhigen Bussen
(u. a. PCI-X) kompatibel. PCI und PCI Express sind mechanisch und
elektrisch inkompatibel. PCI-Express-Karten mit schmalem Steckver-
binder knnen allerdings in breiteren PCI-Express-Steckpltzen genutzt
werden. Siehe dazu ni.com/pciexpress.
5. Schrauben Sie die Metallschiene der Karte an der Rckwand des
Computers fest.
6. (Optional) NI-PCI-Express-Karten der M- und X-Serie
(z. B. NI PCIe-625x/635x) sind an einen ungenutzten 4-poligen Strom-
versorgungsstecker fr die Festplatte anzuschlieen. Wann diese
Stromversorgung bentigt wird, ist im Handbuch des Gerts beschrieben,
das Sie in elektronischer Form auf dem NI-DAQmx-Datentrger finden.
Arbeiten Sie nach Mglichkeit mit einem anderen Stromversorgungs-
strang als dem, ber den die Festplatte versorgt wird.

Durch Anschlieen oder Herausziehen des Stromversorgungssteckers
kann sich die Amplitude gemessener oder ausgegebener Analogsignale
ndern. Nach jedem Einstecken und Herausziehen des Stromversor-

PCI-Express-Gerts durchgefhrt werden. Eine entsprechende Anlei-
tung finden Sie im Dokument Erste Schritte mit NI-DAQ, das ber das
Window-Startmen oder (Windows 8) das NI-Startmen geffnet wird.
7. Bringen Sie, sofern erforderlich, das Computergehuse wieder an.
8. Stecken Sie den Netzstecker ein und schalten Sie den Computer ein.
PXI und PXI Express
Gehen Sie zum Einbauen von PXI- und PXI-Express-Karten wie folgt vor:
1. Schalten Sie das PXI- oder PXI-Express-Chassis aus und ziehen Sie den
Netzstecker. Wie das Chassis angeschlossen und konfiguriert wird, ist in
der dazugehrigen Dokumentation beschrieben.
Vorsicht! Lesen Sie vor dem Entfernen von Abdeckungen und dem
Anschlieen oder Trennen von Kabeln das Faltblatt Read Me First:

des Chassis oder Moduls.

2. Whlen Sie einen PXI-/PXI-Express-Steckplatz. Manche Karten drfen
nur in bestimmten PXI-/PXI-Express-Steckpltzen betrieben werden.

PXI-Module knnen in PXI-Express-Chassis verwendet werden, da
solche Chassis auch PXI-Steckpltze enthalten. Manche PXI-Module
knnen in Hybrid-Steckpltzen betrieben werden. PXI-Express-Module
sind nur mit PXI-Express- und PXI-Express-Hybrid-Steckpltzen kom-
patibel. Einzelheiten finden Sie in der Chassis-Dokumentation.
3. Entfernen Sie die Blende eines freien PXI- bzw. PXI-Express-Steckplatzes.
4. Berhren Sie zur elektrostatischen Entladung ein beliebiges Metallteil
des Gehuses.
5. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass der Arretierhebel des Moduls nicht eingerastet ist.
6. Schieben Sie das Modul entlang der Fhrungsschienen in das Gehuse.
7. Drcken Sie das Modul so weit in das Gehuse, bis es die Steckerleiste
berhrt.
8. Wenn Sie einen Widerstand fhlen, ziehen Sie den Arretierhebel nach
oben und drcken Sie die Karte vollstndig in den Steckplatz.
9. Schrauben Sie die Frontplatte an der Montageschiene des Chassis fest.
10. Stecken Sie den Netzstecker ein und schalten Sie das Chassis ein.
USB-Gerte
Zur Installation von Software und Gerten von National Instruments benti-
gen Sie Administratorrechte. USB-Gerte von National Instruments werden
wie folgt angeschlossen:
1. Befestigen Sie die Kabel fr die Stromversorgung.
BP-1-Akkupacks sind der Beschreibung nach anzuschlieen.
Fr manche USB-Gerte von National Instruments ist eine separate
Stromversorgung, z. B. ein Netzteil, erforderlich. Vergewissern Sie
sich, dass die Netzspannung, fr die das Netzteil ausgelegt ist (z. B.
120 oder 230 V~), den lokalen Gegebenheiten entspricht und die
Ausgangsspannung des Netzteils mit der bentigten Eingangs-
spannung des USB-Gerts bereinstimmt.

2. Schlieen Sie das Gert an die Stromversorgung oder eine Steckdose an.
3. Verbinden Sie das Gert mit dem USB-Anschluss des Computers oder
einem USB-Hub.
4. Bettigen Sie den Netzschalter (sofern vorhanden). Das Gert sollte
automatisch vom Computer erkannt werden.
Bei Erkennung eines USB-Gerts leuchtet oder blinkt am Gert eine LED.
Die durch die LED angezeigten Betriebszustnde sind in der Beschreibung
zum Gert erklrt.
Erkennung von Gerten unter Windows
Bei Windows-Versionen vor Vista werden neu angeschlossene Gerte nach
einem Neustart des Computers erkannt. Gertetreiber werden unter Vista
automatisch installiert. Whlen Sie im Hardware-Assistenten fr jedes Gert
die empfohlene Option, Software automatisch installieren, aus.
NI-Gertemonitor
Wenn ein NI-USB-Gert in Windows erkannt wird, startet automatisch der
NI-Gertemonitor.
Das links abgebildete Symbol des NI-Gertemonitors muss im
Windows-Infobereich neben der Systemuhr angezeigt werden.
Anderenfalls ffnet sich das Programm nicht. Wenn das Symbol
nicht angezeigt wird, trennen Sie das Gert, starten Sie den
NI-Gertemonitor neu und schlieen Sie das Gert wieder an. Das
Programm wird entweder ber das Windows-Startmen oder
(Windows 8) ber das NI-Startmen geffnet.
Im NI-Gertemonitor werden Sie zur Auswahl einer der nachfolgenden
Optionen aufgefordert. Die Optionen knnen je nach installierter Hard- und
Software unterschiedlich sein.
Eine Messung mit diesem Gert durchfhren - NI SignalExpress
verwendenStartet in SignalExpress einen NI-DAQmx-Schritt, der mit
den Kanlen Ihres Gerts arbeitet.
Eine Anwendung mit diesem Gert erstellen - NI LabVIEW verwen-
denStartet LabVIEW. Whlen Sie diese Option, wenn das Gert
bereits im MAX konfiguriert wurde.
Testpanels startenStartet das MAX-Testpanel zu Ihrem Gert.
Dieses Gert konfigurieren und testenStartet MAX.
Keine Aktion ausfhrenStartet kein Programm. Das Gert wird aber
trotzdem erkannt.
