The Christian is bred by the Word and must be fed by it. William Gurnall
2 Corinthians 3:9-11 "For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the
ministry of righteousness abound in glory. 10 For indeed what had glory, in this case has
no glory because of the glory that surpasses it. 11 For if that which fades away was with
glory, much more that which remains is in glory."
1 John 3:2-3 "Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we
will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just
as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is
pure."
Memory Verse
Psalm 119:9: How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your
word.

Reasons to Reflect on Baptism #5. Baptism is a Seal. In at least 2 ways, baptism serves
as an outward seal on God's children. First, it is a mark of ownership, showing that the
ones to whom it is applied are the Lord's possession. Second, it serves to confirm to the
recipient, with the authority of the Lord Himself, all the promises signified in baptism. I
shall mention Rahab and Babylon among those who know Me; Behold, Philistia and Tyre
with Ethiopia: This one was born there. 5 But of Zion it shall be said, This one and that
one were born in her; And the Most High Himself will establish her. 6 The LORD will count
when He registers the peoples, This one was born there. (Psalm 87:46)

Helpful Quotes
A man that is charitable and not pure, is better to others than to himself. Thomas Watson

Christ came not to possess our brains with some cold opinions that send down a freezing
and benumbing influence into our hearts. Christ was a master of the life, not of the school;
and he is the best Christian whose heart beats with the purest pulse towards heaven, not
he whose head spins the finest cobweb. Ralph Cudworth

Accustom yourself to a serious meditation every morning. Fresh airing our souls in heaven
will engender in us a purer spirit and nobler thoughts. A morning seasoning will secure us
for all the day. . . . The thoughts of God were the first visitors David had in the morning
(Psalm 139:1718). God and his heart met together as soon as he was awake, and kept
company all the day after. Stephen Charnock
