THE LORD IS MY GOOD SHEPHERD

When God is your shepherd, you shall lack nothing. This is a fact that is affirmed in the book of Psalms
23:1;
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
It is a promise that can never be broken, not even by your enemy, or yourself. Reason being that it is a
covenant that has been made by God to man. When God assures us of anything in the scriptures or
through revelation, there is no negotiation or second thought because our God is God of covenant. He
has promised us that if we make Him our Shepherd, we shall lack nothing and nothing will be difficult
for us to do: absolutely nothing will be impossible for us to achieve. When the Israelites reached the
bank of the Red Sea they met cross-road and were unable to move forward or go back. The enemies
(the Egyptians) were approaching them tremendously from the hind and they could not confront the
endless water before them (a state of dilemma). This was the situation the Israelites were in and they
could not challenge the Egyptians that was why they ran for their lives initially but unfortunately for
them, they ran into a greater challenge; the red sea but because God had covenant with them He came
to their rescue. Moses, their leader understands the principle of walking with God, he was not jittery nor
nervous but made God his Shepherd and God rescued them in the most challenging situation in their
lives. God was aware of their predicament even before they got to the Red sea because He has already
made available solution. He instructed Moses to stretch his rod and the Sea heard the word of the Lord,
the sea opened and created path for the Israelites because the Lord is their Shepherd.
As easy as described, these are some characteristics that are attributable to the power of God and how
well you can key into it. In the book of John 10:17;
Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
Jesus Christ in His words here made us to understand that He has the capacity to intercede on our
behalf in time of challenges, for that is the reason He laid down His life for us. He sacrificed His life for us
on the cross of Calvary because He wants us to have everything we desire. By the reason of this
principle, that the Lord is your shepherd, I prophesy that anything you propose in life shall prosper in
the name of Jesus Christ.
Gods protection is so dangerous that if you allow Him to guard you against all evil or guide you in all
your endeavours anybody that obstructs your way can be sacrificed because your Shepherd has already
laid down His life for you.
Logically, the role that a shepherd plays is to find food for his sheep, take care of it and make sure the
sheep does not miss. This is the exact way Jesus Christ will care for you; He will protect you and provide
for your need if you make Him your shepherd.
God gave me the revelation in the book of Ephesians, chapter 3 verse 20 which states:
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the
power that worketh in us,
The bible says NOW! Not later, not tomorrow but now, unto your good Shepherd that has more than
sufficient. This implies that the Lord your Shepherd is always available, always there for you to provide
so much for you to enjoy more than what you ask for or what you can even think of. Take for example,
the herdsmen that take care of cattle in the bush, they make sure they take the cattle round the bush,
guiding and protecting them against unseen dangers; they feed the cattle with grass and all that they eat
till the cattle are tired. It is clear, that we have power that resides in us and the power is beyond all the
powers that dwell in the world.
Here are the basic things the good Shepherd does to you:
1. He provides for you
2. He puts you at rest
In the book of Psalms 23:2;
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
This scripture clearly states that He makes me to lie down, that is He puts you at your rest. Practically,
if you are lying down on a mattress or on the floor, it is not possible for you to run around. This is exactly
what Jesus Christ your Shepherd can do for you, He will put you at your eternal rest where you do not
need to struggle or hustle for anything. God will give you rest in Jesus name.
The shepherd is omnipotent, He knows everything; He knows where the STILL WATER is, He knows
where your WEALTH is, He knows where your DESTINY CHILD is, He knows where your GOOD
APPOINTMENT is and He knows where your PEACE is, what you need to do is to wait patiently for Him
and allow Him to lead you to your ETERNAL PEACE.
I prophesy that God will lead you to your breakthrough in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen!
