Please describe the most challenging position of responsibility you have held

One of my team members during a 2nd year project was involved in a pretty horrific car
accident, during the mid to final stages of the project. I took the liberty to step up to the plate
and was prepared to take on the additional work. The reason why I did this was cause I am
1! sure that he would have done the same for me and from this e"perience I#ve learnt
that it is e"tremely important to have that kind of trust with your team members. $ou could
say that I pretty much treat the members of any group that I#m involved in as family.
Please provide an example of when you have used your academic or technical
knowledge to solve a problem
%uring my final year project, the problem presented to me was to navigate a simple motor
via programming through a microcontroller. In control systems I have learnt the ways of
fu&&y logic, I have used the fu&&y logic methodlogies and implemented it into the solution to
drive the motor. 'u&&y logic was a simple yet effective solution I(ve used to overcome the
problem on the most simple yet most effective way on navigating a motor.
When have you have been able to influence an individual or group to adopt your point
of view?
%uring my final years within systems in organisations, I was project leader and responsible
for myself and ) other individuals. I have presented a solution to adopt agile methods into
our line of work and stated why it was better to do it this way and how much time and
resource we can save. I influenced the group with proof and facts, along with taking the
initiative to do so.
How would you rate your ability to analyse a complex problem? Can you provide a
recent example?
I would rate my ability to analyse a comple" problem an * out of 1. The way I would
analyse a problem would be to generally start by writing down as many ideas as I can think
of about possible causes. +e"t I look for relationships among causes so I can group together
symptoms of bigger problems. ,sually, after I study these groups of problems, the real
cause then becomes really apparent. - recent e"ample would have to be in digital control
systems, where the problem would lie in programming a .I% controller to perform .I%
actions onto the /0O. I used the above techni1ue to analyse this problem mainly via flow
charts and looking for possible problems that may occur on the way, thus coming up with an
ultimate solution with a very minimal rate of failure.
Describe a situation when you have had to think on your feet to avoid a problem
%uring the 2rd year project, I was left in a crucial bind when a team member 3team consist
total 2 members4 would suddenly decide to leave the country a night before product
presentation without any notice whether it by email or phone. I had to come up with a
decision on whether or not to finish the missing member(s section with very little time or just
leave out his section altogether. I had decided to finish his part along with my own. If I had
not done that I would have been severly marked down with the other remaining member and
would have had serious problems in terms of missing crucial sections within the actual
presentation.
Please provide examples to demonstrate the strengths and skills that you will bring to

The strengths and skills I can bring to 5+50657 would be my interpersonal skills, I found
that I have a gift when it comes to communicating and getting along with other team
members and generally other people regardless of culture, background and interests. I tend
to encourage them when they#re having trouble with their work and try to bring out the
absolute best in them. Thus a job description that re1uires heavy corporation within a team
environment definitely suits this strength trait that I possess. The skills that I can bring to the
table is industry e"perience gained from 8ac1ues 5lectronics and 0egan /onsultancy .ty
9td in regards to knowledge in fundamental electronics and computer security. -lso real
industry teamwork skills that I have gained and matured from both companies and hopefully
future develop and enhance them with 5+50657.
&riefly describe your final year pro'ect and the outcome
:y final year project consisted of a near 1! computer security system with 0egan
/onsultancy .ty 9td. The project involved hardware and software integration with a portable
mobile device communicating with the main system via ;luetooth. -lso heavy encryption
and cryptographic methodlogies were utilised and designed with the system. The project
was an 0<% project, the findings and progress done on the computer security system was
really fascinating and worked in theory, however further information cannot be disclosed due
to the confidential nature of the company.
Please describe how !"!#($!% four year grad program aligns with your career
aspirations
This is not only an e"ceptional opportunity that the 5+50657 engineering graduate
program is offering, but this company is a place where my 1ualifications and skills gained
from university and industry can really make a difference for the company and hopefully the
world. I have heard that 5+50657(s engineering division are really passionate in their line
of work, I absolutely strongly believe that I also belong there and ultimately will make an
impact.
I have been very passionate in the electronics section of my degree in particular areas of
control systems, 5+50657(s development program can really make a difference on my
career and feel that this stepping stone that 5+50657 provides would definitely alleviate
my career path. :y career aspirations being in areas of control systems, analysing and
design electronic circuits and software engineering, all of which to perform various software =
hardware integration.
