WWII Interdisciplinary Script

Slides 1 and 2 play. Transition to 3
Narrator #1 (Sophia): Recently, our Soviet Allies have discovered yet another heinous Nazi
crime. Evidence has been mounting of the mass atrocities committed by these Nazis.
Narrator #2 (Derek): On July 23, 1944, the Soviets entered the Majdanek camp in Poland.
Narrator #3 (Claire): There they found a sinister site of extermination.
Narrator #4 (John): The Nazis had been rounding up human beings whom they labeled socially,
politically, and racially undesirable and murdering them using toxic gasses.
Narrator #1: Those who were not gassed to death immediately suffered greatly at the hands of
their Nazi captors.
Narrator #2: They were forced to work until they either starved, or dropped dead from
exhaustion
Narrator #3: Little boys and girls were separated from their parents
Narrator #4: Families torn apart.
Transition from 3 to 4
Narrator #1: This is Auschwitz-Birkenau. It is yet another Nazi extermination camp.
Narrator #2: It has been rumored that there are six such camps in existence. Liberated by the
Soviets in January, this was the site of countless more deaths.
Narrator #3: Here, up to 700 prisoners were packed into small chambers that were then flooded
with poisonous chemicals.
Narrator #4: The Soviets also found crematoriums used for the mass burning of their victims.
Narrator #1: With up to five crematoriums, over 4,000 prisoners could be gassed and burnt a day.
Transition from 4 to 5
Narrator #2: It is estimated that over the course of the Holocaust, over 15 million people were
killed in this fashion.
Narrator #3: Approximately six million Jews, five and a half million Ukrainians, and three
million Poles have been killed so far.
Narrator #4: Countless Soviets, Romani, Homosexuals, political prisoners, and the disabled have
been killed as well.
Narrator #1: It has also been rumored that this is all part of a sinister greater plan that was
orchestrated by Hitler, and the Nazi high command.
Narrator #2: Some of the Nazi officers we have captured revealed that the camps are part of a
Final Solution, a sceme of the Nazis to rid the world of people they considered beneath them.
Narrator #3: We can ensure that justice will be served against these inhumane criminals.
Transition from 5 to 6

Narrator #4: slowly These are some of our brave soldiers, going off to fight the Nazis, liberate
these horrendous camps, and free the people of Europe from tyranny.

Narrator #1: This is some footage from a camp that has already been liberated from Nazi control
by our boys on the front.
Play 7
Narrator #2: Mr George Stevens was one of the first people on the scene at the concentration
camp known as Dachau. He is a filmmaker and is creating a documentary on the horrors of these
concentration camps along with many other aspects of this war. Mr. Stevens, please tell us what
you saw when you were at one of these camps?
Director (John): It was a horrible sight, like something out of a nightmare. There were dying
people everywhere. It felt almost disrespectful to be recording them. But at the same time, I was
recording history and representing these peoples tragedy. I was deeply disturbed, but my unit
was doing good work.
Narrator #3: Thank you.
Stevens nods and exits
Transition from 7 to 8
Narrator #3: America will continue to help the weak and broken.
