Generating Special Bodhichitta For the sake of all sentent beings, I must atain the state of bud- dhahood. For that purpose, I am going to practce the meditaton on the Mult-colored Transcendental Wisdom Garuda. Multicolored Garuda Sadhana 5 The Actual Practice of Transcendental Wisdom Multi-colored Garuda OM SVABHAVA SHUDDHA SARVA DHARMA SVABHAVA SHUDDHO HAM I and all appearances are puried into emptness. From the state of emptness, a golden syllable PHUM completely transforms into a Naga King, appearing in the physical form of a golden snake. Above that, my own mind appears as a mult-col- ored syllable KHROM. Light rays radiate from the KHROM, pacify- ing all sicknesses, spirit harm, negatvites, and obscuratons of all sentent beings. The light rays collect back into the KHROM, and from their transfor- maton, I become Transcendental Wisdom Mult-colored Garuda, with one face, two arms, and three eyes. My legs are golden, in the nature of earth. My belly is white, in the nature of water. My torso is red, in the nature of re. My head is blue, in the nature of air. My shoulders and crown are mult-colored, in the nature of space. My wings and back are adorned by mult-colored clouds. My right hand is in the mudra of grantng refuge, caring for the nagas. My lef hand is in the threatening mudra, threatening the nagas. The space between the two sharp horns on my head is adorned by a wish-fullling jewel seized from the crowns of na- gas. I am in the manner of devouring the King of Nagas, who is in the form of snakes. At my throat is a lotus and moon seat, on which is white Buddha Garuda, holding a wheel in his right hand. In the south is golden Jewel Garuda, holding a jewel in his right hand. In the west is red Lotus Garuda, holding a lotus in his right hand. In the north is 6 Multicolored Garuda Sadhana green Karma Garuda holding a sword in his right hand. In the east is blue Vajra Garuda holding a vajra in his right hand. In their lef hands, they each hold a eaten naga in the form of a snake, its col- or corresponding to their own. Their beaks are extremely sharp and blazing with light rays. I am the size of Mount Sumeru. My body emits variegated light rays and a conagraton of re, annihilatng all harmers. My holy body is endowed with overwhelming splendor, and I have an ex- tremely sharp beak and horns. At my heart is a moon disc. On top of that is a white OM, in the east a blue PA, in the south a golden KSHI, in the west a red SVA, and in the north a green HA. At my crown is a white OM, at my throat a red AH; at my heart, in front of the OM is a blue HUM. Light rays radiate from the syllables, invoking from his natural abode Transcendental Wisdom Mult- colored Garuda. He merges into me and we become one. Once again, light rays radiate from my holy body and the seed syl- lables, invoking from his natural abode Guru Vajrapani surround- ed by hosts of Furies. A mass of overwhelming splendor, his holy body is dark blue in color; his right hand wields a vajra, and his lef is in the threatening gesture. He has three eyes, snarling fangs and his face is knoted with wrinkles of wrath. His beard, mous- tache, eyebrows, head hair, and pore hairs blaze like the re at the end of tme. He is adorned with jewels and serpents, his lef leg outstretched and his right drawn in. Guru Vajrapani comes to the crown of my head. Light rays radiate from his body, invok- ing all the buddhas and bodhisatvas from the ten directons to merge into him and become one. Multicolored Garuda Sadhana 7 Then make oerings: OM ARGHAM PRATICCHA HUM SVAHA OM PADYAM PRATICCHA HUM SVAHA OM PUSHPE PRATICCHA HUM SVAHA OM DHUPE PRATICCHA HUM SVAHA OM ALOKE PRATICCHA HUM SVAHA OM GANDHE PRATICCHA HUM SVAHA OM NAIVIDYA PRATICCHA HUM SVAHA OM SHAPTA PRATICCHA HUM SVAHA Request Guru in the nature embodying the three refuges, Guru Vajrapani, please bless me. (3x) Guru Vajrapani merges into me. Conclusion Holding the clear appearance of the deity, I abide within the di- vine pride of being Transcendental Wisdom Mult-colored Garuda Vajrapani, in the nature of the ve Buddha races, which embody all the buddhas and bodhisatvas. Mantra Recitation Then, with the syllables clearly appearing at your heart, recite the mantra as many tmes as possible. OM PA-KSHI SVAHA 8 Multicolored Garuda Sadhana Dedication Due to these merits, may I quickly Become Transcendental Wisdom Mult-colored Garuda And place all migratng beings, without excepton, In that very state. May the supreme jewel bodhichita That has not arisen, arise and grow; And may that which has arisen never decline But increase more and more.
