Program Overview:
Camino Al Futuro Program is a Summer/Fall Leadership Academy for current 9th grade High
School students from the NYC area. Our goal is to engage students with experiences that will
provide support with your journey in applying and succeeding in college. Once you are admitted
to the program, you are granted with the opportunity of continuing with a follow up program
until you have graduated from High School and moved on to college or other post-secondary
choices.

Camino Al Futuro is designed to offer guidance to newcomer Latino students by providing
support in the process of understanding how to navigate the higher educational system in the
United States. This experience will help you develop interpersonal, social and research skills that
will contribute to your success in your own self-exploration. You will be exposed to curriculum
that will include but will not be limited to workshops and field trips that will guide you through
the college research process; admissions requirements; information on college entrance exams
SAT, ACT; personal statement essay tips; and financial aid literacy. As a program graduate, you
will be certified as a Camino Al Futuro Scholar which will give you the tools necessary to act
as mentor and/or advisor in your school and community.

Students that are admitted are required to attend all sessions of program Saturday from
June 28th-September 20th.
