Rhetoric: Irony: cheerful colors among scene of tragedy
Pathos: nostalgia
Location: Makes us feel young and bring backs a sense of innocence
Tone: Bittersweet
One leg up: If only one leg is raised, the rider supposedly died later as a result
of
some type of wound
Stuff Happens: Big letters, sense of declaration, elegiac
Dead dove holding olive branch: symbol of dead peace

Arguments: Regardless of what age you are, accidents occur
Innocence can kill peace

Thesis: Peace is a sacred virtue that every human holds dearly to. However, innocent
children are a danger to this virtue. Young children are one of the biggest
threats
to peace with their maddening kid shows and constant need for attention.

Rhetoric: Black and white: more serious, older photo
Location: segregated water fountain
Tone: sympathetic, heartbreaking
Camera: tilted a little: white water fountain shown higher than colored water
fountain
Pathos: the audience sympathizes with the black man whose basic needs were
segregated from the white mans
Text: White written in bigger letters (could be a sign of authority)
Bleak wall: no hope or the life of the black man was grim
The mans glance: wants to be viewed as equal
Logos: whites and blacks were segregated because of racism

Arguments: Minorities look to the majorities and want to be equal
Quality basic needs should be essential for every single person

Thesis: No matter the differences or the majority opinion, everyone should have their
basic needs met. Basic needs arent degenerate carbon copies of the original
but quality essentials. These essentials include not just food, water, and shelter,
but also equality and belonging.

Rhetoric: Colors: bright and cheerful
Audience: kids and nostalgic adults
Ethos: the author remembers the good ole Calvin and Hobbes comics and fits
right in among a generation who grew up on it (connects with audience)
Purpose: to entertain, to reminisce
Tone: sanguineous, nostalgic, jovial
Pathos: relatable and friendly making us remember childhood and brings back a
sense of youth and adventures
Cartoons in the real world: trying to connect childhood to nature

Arguments: Nature and childhood go hand-in-hand
With the right perspective, nature can be more enjoyable

Thesis: Nature has always been an object of wonder in mans eyes. However, people
pass by nature too much and dont enjoy it. Nature is a playground. People
need
to realize that nature is a hands-on experience that everyone is invited to try.
