Dear SCHS Staff,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share my excitement
about my appointment as the new High School Principal. SCHS has a reputation for
excellence and I feel blessed to be joining a school focused on student learning, a
commitment to high expectations, innovation and collaboration. Most importantly, I
am grateful to have the opportunity to serve with a staff who pursues excellence for
the Glory of God! It is my intent to continue to carry out these important traditions,
practices, and priorities.

I would like to share some information about my testimony, background and
professional experience. As a child I was privileged to attend a Christian elementary
school and High School here in Michigan. During that time I came to know my Lord
and Savior, Jesus Christ. When I was in my early 30s I rededicated myself to the Lord
and participated in a believers baptism. Presently, I pray I will serve the Lord in a
capacity that is truly glorifying to Him. My educational background includes a
Bachelor of Science degree in biology, a Masters degree in Curriculum, Instruction, &
Leadership, and currently I am pursuing an Education Specialist degree, all from
Oakland University. Before joining the Southfield Christian Family I taught secondary
science for 27 years. During that time I also held multiple leadership positions including
Science Department Chair, FEA Vice-President, Coordinating Council Chair, and
Acting Administrator all in the Farmington Public School District.

My goal as administrator is to do everything I can to support and encourage you to
successfully engage our students in being Todays Learners, Tomorrows Leaders, and
Forever Lovers of Christ. It is important for educators to meet the unique needs and
connect with each student. We must teach to the heart of each child and enrich
their abilities to embrace the life God has intended for them.

I am grateful to be joining a warm and caring school environment and working
together with each of you. To aid in this transition, I intend to be in the office between
9am-noon on Monday-Wednesday during the month of July. I know that you will be
busy with your families and summer plans. However, I hope that you will take a few
minutes of your time to come in this summer for a short visit so that we may get
acquainted. My door is always open, so please feel free to call or stop by for a visit. If
you have questions or concerns do not hesitate to touch base with me. I look forward
to a wonderful year with you!

Blessings,

Lynn Walter
Principal
