This standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 124 Timber structures (Secretariat: Denmark).
The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Bauwesen (Building
and Civil Engineering Standards Committee), Technical Committee Holzbauwerke.
Amendments
This standard differs from the July 1996 edition in that the method for determining characteristic values from
tests on small specimens free from defects is now only permitted for hardwood.
