4. HEATING MODE:
The weld joint along with the adjacent band to be heat-treated shall be heated either by
induction heating or by electrical resistance heating equipment.
HEAT BAND:
5.1 Proper care shall be taken to ensure that width oI heated band over which speciIied post
weld heat treatment temperature attained is at least that speciIied in the relevant
applicable standards/ codes.
5.2 While carrying out local Post Weld Heat Treatment the technique to be adapted Ior
heating shall be ensured that uniIorm heating shall be maintained at all points oI the
portion being heat-treated.
5.3 The bandwidth to be decided accordingly, while heating welded joints; the exposed
surIace temperature shall not be allowed to exceed 50 oI the peak temperature.
6. TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENTS:
6.1 The temperature attained by the heated portion shall be measured by thermo couples.
ManuIacturers test certiIicates shall be submitted Ior the thermocouple materials.
