#4 compare/contrast essay
Someone who is radical has a strong desire to change something. In this case the person
is trying to change their own country. A radical also does not support what is already there, but
forsakes it in hope that if done their own ideas will come no matter the damage caused. They
do not care what happens as long as they get what they want.
Today people with radical views are referred to Jacobin. The word Jacobin is used to
describe radical because the Jacobins supported the French Revolution however they did not
support the Austrian war. Jacobin was a French revolutionary group or a society of friends of
the constitution known as the Jacobin club. Their goal for the French revolution was to provide
worldwide suffrage, a strong government, a public education, also separating the church and
the state. A way the Jacobin influence politically was by encouraging sentiments of patriotism
and liberty against the populace. Another way they had an influence but in a culture way were
revolved around the creation of the citizen.
Back then the French revolution had the Jacobin; today we have political
clubs/organization like the Democratic Party. The Democrat party is one out of two major
political parties in the United States and is also the oldest party. Since 1930s the party has
promoted a liberal and progressive platform. Democrats believe that all people should pursue
their goals despite their religion, race, their moral principle, or sexual orientation. In the sixties
the democrats are fighting for civil right and they are still fighting to this day; other thing the
democrats are fighting for are educations, clean environment, and working America. The
democrats support the freedom of speech, technology, health cares, womens right to choose,
and multiculturalism. Some impacts the democrat party have on the US is like Obama care, the
Clinton presidency, Jackson leaving an imprint on American politics and the presidency.
Even though the Jacobin and the Democratic Party are different they have some similar
things. One of the Jacobin goal where a public education and one of the things that the
democrat are fighting for is education for Americans regardless on the economic situation they
were born in. Another thing is that both of them want the separation of the church and the
state. Also they are both have made an impact somehow; and the Democratic Party and the
Jacobin have a social and political way they impact the world.
In conclusion Jacobin was a club of Society of Friends during the French
Revolution and today the people who were referred as radical view were known as Jacobin.
Today we have many political clubs/organization and one major political club we have is the
Democratic Party who are the oldest of two major political parties in the United States. Both
the Jacobin and Democratic Party are different with different beliefs, what they are fighting for,
and different goals. Even though they are both different they have some similarities like
education and separation of the church and state but one thing they did do is somehow impact
either the French revolution or U.S.A
