!arthing o" metallic #arts
There is continuity between the cast resin earth screen and metallic parts of the
switchboard and cables so that there is no electric field pattern in the surrounding air,
thereby ensuring the safety of people.
$ !arthing o" the main circuit
The cables are earthed by an integral earthing switch with short-circuit ma5ing
capacity, in compliance with *" 2+, standard. The earthing switch can only be
operated when the main switch is open.
The earthing switch is operable through the main circuit mechanism and manual
closing is dri$en by a fast-acting mechanism, independent of operator action.
Mechanical interloc5ing systems pre$ent the RMU function from being operated from
the C><C to C"arth >nC position without going through the C>''C position.
1% &ing switches
onsisting of (16 amp fault ma5ing/load brea5ing spring assisted ring switches,
each with integral fault ma5ing/dead brea5ing earth switches. The switch is naturally
interloc5ed to pre$ent the main and earth switch being switched C><C at the same
time. The selection of the main and earth switches is made by a le$er on the facia,
which is allowed to mo$e only if the main or earth switch is in the off positon.
