Synopsi s
The purpose of this course is to introduce the latest development in concrete improvement techniques; discuss the design
and construction aspects of common concrete improvement methods and illustrate the applications of various concrete
improvement techniques using case histories in Malaysia and elsewhere around the world.

About The Speaker s
Ir Steven Ng Si Yoon, B.Sc. Civil, P Eng, MIEM, graduated from Oklahoma State University, USA in 1986. He is a registered
Civil Engineer with the Board of Engineers and The Institution of Engineers Malaysia, and has worked in the construction
industry for 22 years in various capacities, Civil & Structural Engineer, Resident Engineer and Project Manager. Steven Ng
is currently a Product Manager for Sika Kimia Sdn. Bhd. He redefines and reviews all the technical specifications and
product limitations as necessary with the engineers to ensure that all products and systems perform satisfactorily.

Steven has more than 15 years of experience in the assessment and repair of concrete structures. He has been involved in
important refurbishment projects like the KLCC, LRT, KLIA, Mid Valley, Chenderoh and Kenyir dams, Sultan Yahya
bridge, Semenyih and Bukit Nanas treatment plants, etc.

Toh Seng Chee holds the position of Regional Application Field Manager Asia Pacific in Concrete Refurbishment and
Strengthening. He has a Bachelors Degree (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch,
NZ.

Seng Chee worked as a Civil Engineer in design and construction prior to joining Sika as the Regional Manager in Sarawak,
Sabah, Labuan and Brunei in 1996. In fulfilling his objective to directly involve in application works, he jointly established a
specialist contracting company in 2004 specializing in concrete refurbishment and strengthening, industrial flooring and
waterproofing. Seng Chee has accumulated more than 15 years experience in theoretical and practical applications in the
construction chemicals industry.

Charles Alberto graduated from:
Ungku Omar Polytechnic, in September 1983 with Certificate in Civil Engineering (Construction)
Multimedia University, Malaysia in January 2003 with Bachelors degree (Hons) in management
Multimedia University, Malaysia in August 2010 with MBA

He has 20 years of experience in Precast and Readymix industry and 7 years in railway bridges.
Major Projects include:
