CCNAPI invites you to its Program Offerings
YEAR 2010
BASIC EKG INTERPRETATION
Electrocardiography provides you with a graphic of the heart’s electric activity. By interpreting
the EKG correctly, the rhythm and conduction disturbances can be identified. This interpretation
can provide valuable information regarding the patient’s cardiac status.
This program will provide information necessary to help nurses interpret the EKG. The course
will provide a brief review od the electrocardiography, components of waveform and systemic
approach to analyzing an EKG.
This is an eight-hour course that will provide the participants with following core concepts and
skills:
The program will offer the opportunity to practice and “master” these skills during practicum
facilitating and adult learning experience that is fun, interactive, and relevant to any workshop
setting.
ABCD of Resuscitaion
This course is designed for nurses who participate in the resuscitation of a patient, whether in or
out of hospital. Through this course, the nurses will enhance their skills in assisting during the
treatment of the adult victim of cardiac arrest of other cardiopulmonary emergencies. This course
on the ACLS: The ABCD of Resuscitation will emphasize the importance of basic life support
with advanced cardiovascular life support integrations; and the importance of effective team
interaction and communication during resuscitation.
This ACLS course is American Hear Association (AHA) - aligned program and will apply
simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through various
learning stations. This methodology will provide the participants with more practice sessions in
building skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader.
NURSING SKILLS FAIR
Nursing procedures are constantly changing this is due to never ending discoveries in best-
practice health care methods. As nurses we want to ensure that our knowledge and skills in
nursing procedures are always updated. We can read a lot of them and have the knowledge but it
is different if we have the developed a certain level of skill acquisition, particularly in this time
of new technology. For this reason CCNAPI is offering a course focusing on common nursing
procedures.
This two-day course will provide nurses with the latest information about stroke, its diagnosis,
treatment and management including stroke rehabilitation. It will strengthen the clinical practice
of the nurses through the application of the principles and concepts learned from the course.
The Basic Critical Care Nursing Course is a five day program intended to provide the new nurses
with an overview of critical care nursing practice. It will present the physiological concepts that
will be the basis of understanding the diseases and nursing assessment. The course will offer an
opportunity for nurses to develop critical thinking by integrating knowledge about the disease,
assessment, intervention and management.
The course will have a four-day didactic and one-day workshop period to enable the participants
to develop basic skills necessary in a simulated environment.
