Description of the COMPRION Network Simulation Controller R4.10.3

Summary:

The COMPRION LTE CMW500 Network Simulation Controller R4.10.3 is part of the
COMPRION SIMfony LTE family and to be used in combination with the IT Test Platform
R4.10.3 or the IT Prove R4.10.3 with the enabled module IT

The COMPRION LTE CMW500 Network Simulation Controller R4.10.3 has to be installed
on the network emulator R&SCMW500 after the R&SCMW500 software has been in-
stalled as follows for USIM/USAT tests according to 3GPP TS 31.121/ 3GPP TS
31.124/VZW LTE USAT/USIM:

Hardware requirements for the R&SCMW500

1x CMW-PS502 CMW500 Wideband Radio Communication Tester, Mainframe
2x CMW-B300A H300A Signalling Unit Wideband (SUW)
1x CMW-B570B H570B RF Converter Module (TRX) (2nd TRX, 1st TRX is already
included in CMW-PS502)

Further mandatory components to operate CMW PS502 are not listed here.

For GSM MRAT USIM LTE TCs:
1x CMW-B200A H200A Signaling Unit Universal (SUU)
1x CMW-B210A GSM/GPRS/EDGE Signaling Extension Module

Mandatory according to R&S for protocol testing:

COMPRION LTE CMW500 Network Simulation Controller R4.10.3
is used to exchange data like synchronisation and information messages, configura-
tion files, logs, etc. between the IT Platform R4.10.3/IT Prove R4.10.3 and the
R&SCMW500,
allows viewing of the messages between both systems,
is used for license handling of the COMPRION control software and test cases on the
R&SCMW500,
is required to execute tests of "COMPRION LTE CMW500 3GPP TS 31.121 USIM USS
Set 2" R4.10.3
is required to execute tests of "COMPRION LTE CMW500 3GPP TS 31.124 USIM USS
Set 3" R4.10.3

Prerequisite:

Please read the "Quick Installation Guide COMPRION SIMfony LTE" and follow the instruc-
tions therein carefully before executing tests.

Please make sure that the R&SCMW500 software has been installed on the
R&SCMW500 system as described above.

For LTE only TCS, it is recommended to check the correct working of the R&SCMW500
before by running an example test scenario of

CMW-KF500 LTE SAMPLE SCN V29.27.200.260

which is provided together with LTE FDD MLAPI (CMW-LTE RS, CMW-KP500) the by R&S.


For MRAT - LTE TCS, it is recommended to check the correct working of the
R&SCMW500 before by running an example test scenario of

Note: installing this version of the LTE SAMPLE SCN (LTE MLAPI WCDMA HO SCN / LTE
MLAPI GSM H/O SCN ) implicitly assures the correct installation of all other required
SW components in the correct version on CMW500 !

Note: for use of COMPRION LTE CMW500 Network Simulation Controller R4.10.3 to
execute test cases from COMPRION OTAbility, a different SW configuration on CMW500
has to be used and is described in clause 1.3 of Quick Installation Guide IT3 OTAbility.

COMPRION does not provide a download of the required R&SCMW500 software. If re-
quired please contact Rohde&Schwarz (http://www2.rohde-schwarz.com/) to retrieve
the required R&SCMW500 software.
