Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb. Ladies and Gentlemen In this very happy occasion, I can speak for you all about corruption. Do you know corruption? When Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Jusuf Kalla were eventually elected President and Vice President, the public urged them to make the fight against corruption a part of their concrete agenda, especially because during the campaign Susilo vowed personally to lead the anti- corruption campaign. Legally, war against corruption was declared when law No. 28/1999 on the establishment of a state free from corruption, collusion and nepotism was ratified. It seems, however, that all of these laws will not suffice to speed up the elimination of corruption. Indonesia is notorious as the most corrupt state in Asia. Ironically, only a very small number of corruptors have been exposed and punished. The question is, why it is so difficult to prosecute corruption cases in Indonesia? Many people believe the roots of corruption are difficult to expose because the legislation is unclear. Other say the majority of out our legal enforces are not really committed to fighting corruption. In the context of law enforcement, Susilo has asked the national police chief to expand corruption investigations. He also asked the police chief to prevent his officers from abusing their power and to impose heavy penalties on those officers who did abuse this power. While observing that corruption is an extraordinary crime, extraordinary measures must be taken to determine the future of the agenda for corruption eradication. o First, major corruption cases must be handled properly and seriously, as experience has shown that the corruption cases still are not dealt with successfully. o Second, government officials involved in corruption cases must be discharged from their positions. o Third, when a court of law finds a government official guilty of corruption, he or she must be put in prison immediately after the verdict is passed by the district court. In conclusion. However effort to speed up the corruption eradication campaigns cannot be left completely to the executive. We also need to know the commitment of the legislative bodies in eradicating corruption. The future of corruption eradication efforts will be much better than in the past. Now is the right time to state. So, Never Stop Fighting Against Corruption. Wassalamualaikum Wr. Wb. Sumber : http://ardnt.wordpress.com/2009/02/07/corruption-speech/
One of the most important social evils.Corruption causes a series of ill actions by a chain reaction. A police accepting a bribe makes the person more at ease bribing again. He soon gets encouraged to bribe others. Those who witness the bribes taking place are encouraged to do the same.Corruption also does not give a fair hearing to the deserving. A bright student would be denied admission if a rich student bribed the administration. The society can never prosper as the poor never get a chance and the cycle of rich becoming richer and poor becoming poorer prevails. Jealously also comes to place,a person seeing so many opportunities going from him gets inclined to steal to get the money to bribe or scam others to unlawfully earn the money. Corruption at heart must also be considered with this topic. A teacher showing favoritism, a student cheating or a person lieing continuously without guilt shows the corrupted vales which ultimately leads to failure. A good example of what corruption can do to the society is a fictional city of Gotham in The Batman where all hope is lost on its citizens when corruption has taken over.In short all sorts of social evils can happen due to corruption.
