My April 28, 2014 letter to Nitzav Benzi Sau, Tel Aviv District Police Commander, [1]
includes the recording of an April 25, 2014 phone conversation between a senior Tel
Aviv Police Intelligence Officer and a policeman on the ground in the Arlosoroff
Camp. [2-3] My letter raises concerns regarding police conduct.
The April 29, 2014 response by Nitzav Benzi Sau, Tel Aviv District Police
Commander, [4] states that the matter was transferred to your Department, since
there was concern of criminal conduct by police.
I live in the OccupyTLV camp for about 1.5 years, and in my opinion, the events of
April 25, 2014, should be examined in the context of police conduct in the camp
throughout that period. Such examination is likely to lead to the conclusion that
Israel Police in collaboration with the Tel Aviv Municipality deliberately permit the
creation of violent, lawless conditions in the camp.
Therefore, I request to provide evidence in the matter in reference to your
Department.
