ACADEMIC PROJECT

Design & Optimization of LPG Plant Using Simulator HYSYS 3.1.

DESCRIPTION :-
HYSYS is a simulation software and by using this software I have optimized the
LPG plant of GAIL (India) Limited. This project involves the simulation of LPG plant using a
chemical process simulator HYSYS 3.1. The process consists of different process equipments
such as LNG Heat Exchanger, Separators, Expander-Compressor, Distillation columns and the
feed mixture comprises of methane, ethane, propane, butanes and higher hydrocarbons,
nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water. The objective is to get maximum LPG recovery from
the Natural Gas. The process is simulated in steady state and different parameters are altered
to get the best possible results. Parameters that have the greatest effect on the process
includes reflux ratio, temperature, pressure and the composition of the feed stream were studied
carefully.
