Govt. College of Engineering Karad is a premier institute in
Western Maharashtra established in 1960 due to the efforts of Late Shri. Yashawantro Chavan. The College is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur and is acting as a vital education center for many years. The institute offers 5 UG programs in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Information Technology and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and also 6 PG programs viz Civil (Construction Management & Structural Engg.), Mechanical (Heat Power Engg. & Production Engg.), Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA). Amongst the sixteen institutes from Maharashtra state selected for participation in the second phase of Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP-II) - an ambitious project of Government of India., Govt. College of Engineering, Karad is one of them. The institute is spread over 40 acres of serene and green campus and is a predominantly a residential campus. Karad city is situated on the confluence of rivers Krishna and Koyna and is well connected by rail and road (NH 4). The city is about 160 Km from Pune. ABOUT THE CONFERENCE The objective of a National Conference on Advances in Civil and Structural Engineering (NCACSE - 2014) is to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, academicians as well as industrial professionals from all over India to present their research results and development activities in Civil Engineering. National Conference on Advances in Civil Engineering (NCACSE 2014) will be held in Karad during August 22-23, 2014. CALL FOR PAPERS The papers related to the themes mentioned above and related with civil/structural engineering are invited from the faculty members of engineering colleges and polytechnics, working engineers, scientists, research scholars, PG students and NGOs working in related areas. GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF PAPER The full text of paper is to be limited to a maximum of 8- A4 size papers including tables and figures typed in Times New Roman and single spacing. The other requirements are: Top/bottom/left/right margin: 25mm. Abstract : 200-300 words Title : 14 point bold capital Affiliation : 12 point italics Text : 11 point The paper must include name, full contact address and email of the corresponding authors. The guidelines for authors are available on institute website www.gcekarad.ac.in. Authors are expected to submit the full length paper in softy copy and scanned copy of the copy right transfer form by E-mail to: ncacse14@gmail.com. PROCEEDINGS All paper accepted for presentation in the conference will be published in the proceedings having ISBN Number. Few selected paper will be published in special issue of Elsevier J ournal. The registration fees and form shall be sent along with full length paper. The fees will cover proceedings, one set of delegate kit, working lunch and tea during the conference. Traveling, Lodging, boarding and other expenses will have to be borne by the participants. Accommodation will have to be managed by the participants only. However, the guidance will be provided for accommodation. The hotel tariff may range between Rs. 300/- to Rs.2500/- per day. All the payments shall be made by Demand Draft in favour of Principal, Government College of Engineering, Karad payable at Karad.
