Last April 29, 2014, the University of the Philippines Cebu Student Council 2014-2015 6
conducted its 4

official meeting at the Student Council Office. The meeting was called to order at 7
3:25 PM with 12 members present. The presiding officer of the meeting was the Student Council 8
Chairperson, Ms. April Dyan Gumanao. 9

The meeting called to order at 3:25 PM. Quorum was established. 32

After the quorum was reached, the meeting was called to order and Chairperson 36

A motion to approve the order of the agenda was raised by Representative Gattoc 46
and was duly seconded by Representative Balane. 47
A. Approval of Minutes 48

Acting Secretary-General and Representative Gattoc presented the 50
minutes of the second official meeting of the student council dated April 1, 51
2014 to the body. The body expressed that they have read the minutes of the 52
second official student council meeting and the amendments raised were 53
included. 54

A motion to approve the minutes of the second official meeting of the 56
UP Cebu Student Council was raised by Representative Tidalgo and was 57
duly seconded by Representative Meriz. 58
Acting Secretary-General and Councilor Calderon presented the 59
minutes of the third official meeting of the student council dated April 22, 60
2014 to the body. The body expressed that they have read the minutes of the 61
second official student council meeting and the amendments raised were 62
included. 63

A motion to approve the minutes of the second official meeting of the 65
UP Cebu Student Council was raised by Representative Codera and was 66
duly seconded by Representative Tidalgo. 67

B. ENROLLMENT ASSISTANCE 69

Program Representatives from Psychology, Biology, and Management were 71
present during initial planning for the Enrollment Assistance for the Freshies this 72
coming May 7-22, 2014. 73

Representative Gattoc reminded each of the councilors to note what 75
materials they need to bring to the assistance (laptops, pocket wifis) for use. The SC 76
will station in two areas: the catwalk and near the CSO.Course based orgs will 77
station near their course offices to assist incoming freshmen for more course-related 78
problems. The SC will provide a general assistance. 79

Representative Gattoc presented a schedule for the officers to take shifts in 81
the enrollment assistance 82

Councilor Calderon suggested that in the next activities of the student 84
council, the members must be well coordinated. 85

Final instructions will be presented on May 6, 2014. 87

C. GRADUATION PROTEST 89

Chairperson Gumanao announced that graduation protest will be part of the 91
Graduation Ceremonies. 92

The College Secretary and Registrar Dr. Patricia Nazareno, through 94
Representative Balane, requested the SC to conduct peaceful graduation protest. 95

D. COOKOUT MATTERS 97

Chairperson Gumanao presented a clean timeline for the tentative schedule 99
of events for the preparation of Cookout 2014. 100

Everyone agreed that this should be presented to the prod team for a special 102
meeting to be held on May 3rd. Vice Chairperson Degamo will preside since 103
Chairperson Gumanao will not be present during that time. 104

E. OTHER MATTERS 107

i. Assistance to the Management Students 109

Management sophomores asked the SC if they could help them to ask the 111
administration for a special summer class due to the fact that their grades were only 112
given after the summer class started, only to discover that they had failed the subject 113
and they need to take it because it's a prerequisite for a subject next semester. Since 114
councilor Balane will talk to Mrs. Nazareno, he was assigned to bring the issue to 115
her. 116

III. ADJOURNMENT OF THE MEETING 118

Motion to adjourn the meeting was raised by Representative Matarlo and was seconded by 120
Councilor Trocio. The meeting was adjourned at 5:30 PM. 121
