Operation of a solar cell, different losses from a solar cell
I-V characteristics of a solar cell, Fill Factor, Maximum Power Point, Effect of solar

Solar Radiation

Fundamentals

Extraterrestrial solar radiation, Solar Constant, Absorption and scattering of solar radiation
during its passage through earths atmosphere, Beam (direct) and Diffuse components of
terrestrial solar radiation.

Measurement of solar radiation

Basic sun-earth geometry, Declination angle, solar zenith and altitude angles, solar and
surface azimuth angles, Solar Time, Hour Angle, Angle of incidence of beam component
of solar radiation on horizontal as well as tilted surfaces. Diffuse and total solar radiation
on a south facing tilted surface. Sunshine duration (day length)
