India Drivers Licence Verification Checklist
C/AUS/IND/16 IDLV 1/2 17/07/2013 Complete application form online. (Miscellaneous Services and Affidavit Form) Ensure the documents are completed accurately and signed where needed Photo copy of your Indian passport [ First & Last page of your Indian passport and Endorsement page in case of a name change endorsement] Fathers Name on the application form should be exactly as per the Driving License One photograph of 2 inch x 2 inch. See photo specification on the website under Indian Drivers Licence verification section for details (1 pasted on the form). Original Valid Driving License Original Letter from the License issuing authority in India confirming that the License was issued by them. - letter should be issued within last 6 months [Older than 6 months not acceptable] - Name sequence on authority letter should match with License. - Letter must contain the seal and stamp of the issuing authority including the city.

Is the Name on your Licence Different from the Name on your Current Valid O The Licence Verification Certificate will only be issued in the Exact Name as per your drivers Licence. The name on your application form and Licence must be exactly the same. Any salutation will be considered as a part of the name. O Example of what is defined as difference in names and not acceptable. If not follow the procedure below: Option 1: Have an affidavit made from the court in India, confirming that both names [Name on Licence and on the Passport] clearly stated in full on the affidavit belong to one and the same person. Have this notarised in India. The Original Affidavit must then be attested by the Consulate/ High Commission. This service is to be done first and directly at the Consulate/ High Commission as a miscellaneous service.
For applications sent by post/courier do not send a return post/courier envelope. (Postal/courier processing fee includes the return delivery).
