It is a way of life that holds the spirit of in&uiry and furtherance of scientific knowledge as the most sacred ob'ectives of life. A spirit since its inception as childhood curiosity has been the motivation for continuing my education. I have always felt a strong need for innovative and constructive ideas. !his has served as the propelling force behind all that I have achieved in my academic career. !cademic Bac)ground I have always aspired to choose a career that would mean work that stimulates me and holds a natural appeal to me. In my Undergraduate studies, I have benefited from the breadth of syllabi content that has given me a comprehensive e(posure to the core areas of )hemical *ngineering and a strong conceptual understanding of the same. In these four years of study, I have strived to maintain an approach of e(pending independent effort in all my endeavors. +earning by myself and sharing my knowledge with others has been most worthwhile, when comprehending a concept. I have always improved in my academics right from school to undergraduate course. Academically, I am comfortably placed among the top $# percentage of my class. As an active member of our college committee, I have taken interest in organi,ing various seminars and symposia for the students of the college that helped me to gain e(pertise in communication skills and +eadership skills.
*h' +igher Studies -hen the ultimate ob'ective is speciali,ation, an undergraduate education is definitely deficient. A deeper understanding of the intricacies demands a research.oriented graduate education .I wish to pursue graduate studies at the Uni,ersit' not only as a means for developing my skills and capabilities to conduct original thinking and independent study but also as a means of channeling my enthusiasm, energy and vigor for doing some really useful research work. /A ship in harbor is safe . but that is not what ships are for0. 1y ambition to come to the U2 for the 12 program doesn3t arise as a result of dearth of resources in India, but lack of technical know.how to e(ploit these resources. An international 1aster3s degree from a reputed American university not only fulfils my interests but also gives an edge over my peers back in my country. !o widen my perspective of sub'ect knowledge and also to put my talent to rigorous testing, I feel it is the best opportunity and the right time to approach U2 through a university as esteemed as yours.
