Title:

There is a grasshopper who likes to sing and play
all summer long and would stop and eat once in
a while and some ants march by with food for
the winter, but grasshopper didnt mind them
then the wind blows off the leaves from the trees
and he knocks on the ants home to ask for food.

The Boy shepherd was bored so he decided to
make a joke and he ran to the village and cried
Wolf! Wolf! then boy shepherd laughed and
said: It is just a joke! then one day a wolf
attacked his sheep and he told the villagers but
they would not believe him this time.

Title:

A hare liked to brag about himself, so the tortoise
challenged him to a race and the hare laughed
at him then hare fell asleep in the race so the
Tortoise won the race.

Title:

A farmer takes his wheat to the market on his
donkey and the horse kicks and frolic and would
not help then the donkey begged the horse to
help him and the donkey fell to the ground so
the farmer called the horse and put the wheat
AND the donkey on his back.

This is a lesson after run-on sentences is taught.
Teacher Directions:
1. Cut each Fable picture strip and paste them
on the wall.
2. Give each group of students (4s) a copy of
the Fable paper to read and discuss.
3. Have the students do a picture walk and
write down the title of each fable, basing on
the pictures on the wall.
4. Show the Fables Video to check their
answers.(Video listening guide on separate
worksheet)
5. Review run-on sentences.
6. Have each group work together (each one
has one paper to work on) or have one group
work on 1 fable and the other groups do the
others (lower level class) and break the run-on
sentence apart to 3 shorter sentences.
7. Paste the finished paper on the wall beside
the picture and the students can do a picture
walk with post sticks to write their suggestions
and comments, ad paste them beside the
paper on the wall.
