Programme électoral

Préambule

Étant donné l’état lamentable qui afflige la politique au sein de cette Université, étant
donné l’apathie qui semble régner parmi les étudiants, étant donné l’inexistence d’un
débat sur les idées fondatrices d’une société étudiante et d’une société canadienne, il est
impératif d’énoncer les principes qui doivent guider une nouvelle politique étudiante.

Ces principes seront l’égalité radicale de tous, la res publica (chose publique) et
l’impératif d’une politique vertueuse.

Plans et Projets :

Politique

- Militer auprès du gouvernement fédéral pour la suspension des droits d’auteurs en

ce qui concerne l’éducation postsecondaire
- Militer auprès du gouvernement provincial pour une réforme du système de prêts
étudiants afin de réduire la dette étudiante suite à l’obtention du diplôme
- Établir un système de participation directe et de co-gouvernance via des
assemblées mensuelles

Pédagogie

- La création d’un comité mixte (étudiants et administrateurs), approuvé par

l’administration universitaire, qui évaluera le bilinguisme des professeurs et des
cours (ex : matériel de lecture disponible dans la langue du cours)

Développement durable

-Création d’un comité permanent qui aura comme mandat d’explorer et de suggérer les
solutions environnementale à proposer aux entreprises sur le campus et dans la ville
d’Ottawa
-Revue complète des pratiques à l’Université d’Ottawa afin d’établir toutes opportunités
d’amélioration possible
Identité

-Création d’un comité identitaire permanent afin d’examiner la question identitaire

(culture, langue, religion etc) au sein de l’Université

Bien-être étudiant

- Militer pour l’embauche d’un nouveau traiteur à l’Université d’Ottawa

- Militer pour un campus plus universel (ex : meilleur accès pour les handicapés,
meilleur éclairage et maintien d’endroits d’études)
- Militer pour l’abolition des frais injustes (ex : 10$ pour rentrer en résidence)
- Militer pour la création d’un centre anti-stress
- Militer pour l’option de se retirer de la passe autobus dite « universelle »

Éthique
- Créer un comité d’éthique responsable d’évaluer toute politique et activité
étudiante et de soumettre des recommandations lors des assemblées
- Réduire le salaire des membres de l’exécutif de la FÉUO à l’équivalent du
financement moyen d’un étudiant universitaire
- Instauration de principes exigeant une politique vertueuse et transparente
Electoral platform

Preamble

Considering the lamentable state of politics within this University, considering the apathy
that seems to reign amongst the students, considering the absence of a debate on the
founding ideas of a student society and of a Canadian society, it is imperative to
enunciate the principles which must govern a new student policy.

These principles shall be a radical equality for all, the res publica (the public thing or the
common interest) and the imperative for virtuous politics.

Plans and Projects:

Politics

- Lobby the Federal government to obtain the suspension of copyrights as far as

post-secondary education is concerned
- Lobby the Provincial government for a reform of the loan system in order to
reduce student debt upon graduation
- Establish a system of direct participation and co-governance through monthly
assemblies

Pedagogy

- Creation of a joint committee (students and administrators), approved by the

administration, which will evaluate the bilingualism of professors and courses
( ex : reading material available in the language of the course.)

Environmental conscience

- Creation of a permanent committee, whose mandate will require the exploration

and suggestion of environmental solutions to on campus companies and in the
City of Ottawa
- Complete review of all practices at the University of Ottawa in order to establish
all possible avenues of improvement

Identity

- Creation of a permanent identity committee in order to examine the issue of identity

(culture, language and religion) within the University

Student welfare

- Lobby for the hiring of a new caterer at the University of Ottawa

 - Lobby for a more universal campus (ex: access for handicapped, better lighting et
preservation of study environments)
- Lobby for the abolition of unjust fees ( ex: 10$ to enter residence)
- Lobby for the creation of an antis stress centre
- Lobby for the option to op-out of the so called universal bus pass

Ethics

- Creation of an ethics committee responsible of the evaluation of all student

policies and activities and the submission of recommendations during assemblies
- Reduce the salary of the members of the executive of the SFUO to the equivalent
of the financing of the average university student
- Instauration of principles demanding virtuous and transparent politics
