IEQp1:MinimumIndoorAirQualityPerformance ProvideaseparateASHRAE62.12007calculatorforeachoutsideairsystem.PerformASHRAE62calculationsat theworstcasecondition(theoperatingconditionresultinginthehighestminimumventilationrate). Substantiatezoneairdistributioneffectiveness(EZ)basedonthetypeofsystemandthemodeofoperation.Use Table6.2inASHRAE62fordifferentscenarios. Chooseseveralventilationzonespersystemtoaccuratelydeterminewhichisthecriticalzone. Evaluatepercentagesoftotalairflowatboththezoneandsystemlevel,peroperatingconditions. ForCIprojects,anairhandlingunitsentireareaandpopulationbeingservedmustbeenteredintothe calculator,evenifthespacesareservedbyairhandlingunitsalsoservingotherareas.

IEQc4.14.6(BD+C),IEQc4.14.5(ID+C):LowEmittingMaterials Listalladhesivesandsealantsinstalledinsidetheweatherproofenclosureofthebuilding,includingfirestopping sealants,flooringadhesives,andplumbingadhesives. Listallpaintsandcoatings,includingprimer,installedinsidetheweatherproofenclosureofthebuilding. IfaproductexceedstheVOClimit,provideaVOCbudgetshowingthatthetotalallowableVOCsingramsper literisgreaterthanthetotalinstalledVOCsingramsperliter.Ensurethatthequantitiesofallproductsinthe creditarerecorded. Listallindoorcompositewoodandagrifiberproductsused,includinglaminateadhesives,plywood, particleboard,MDF,andwooddoors. ConfirmthatmaterialsarelistedconsistentlyacrosstheIEQandMRcredits. ProvidecutsheetsonwhichrelevantLEEDinformation(e.g.,VOCcontent,ureaformaldehydefree,etc.)is clearlyidentified.Forexample,drawboxesorcirclesaroundtheinformationandusearrowsorhighlighting.

IEQc5:IndoorChemicalandPollutantSourceControl Provideprojectdrawingsthathighlighttheinstalledentrywaysystemslocationsandmeasurements.Include narrativeexplaininganyentrancesthatmayappeartoberegularlyusedbutarenot(e.g.,anaccesscontrolled entryoranemergencyexit). Providesystemssuchasgrates,grills,orslottedsystemsthatallowforcleaningunderneath,orrolloutmatsthat canberemovedforweeklycleaning.Provideconfirmationofweeklymaintenanceforrolloutmatsifused. Provideprojectdrawingsthathighlightroomseparationsforchemicaluseareas,includingdecktodeck partitionsorhardlidceilings,selfclosingdoors,andexhaustsystems.Includeallspaceswherehazardousgases orchemicalsmaybepresent(e.g.,janitorsclosets). ProvideamechanicalscheduleorsimilardocumentationlistingtheMERVratingforthefiltersatallairhandling unitsinstalledintheproject.

IEQc8.2:DaylightandViewsViews(forSeatedSpaces) Considerasimulationormeasurementoptioninsteadoftheprescriptiveoptionforprojectswithmore complicatedspaces.Forsimulation,considerthethresholdat9a.m.and3p.m.;foraspecificareawithinthe space,itmustmeettheconditionsatbothtimes. Onprojectdrawings,identifyallregularlyoccupiedspacesandtheirassociatedfloorarea,aswellasdaylight areasorzones.

EQSpaceTypeMatrix IEQcreditrequirementsdonotapplytoallspacesorspacetypeswithinabuilding.RefertoUSGBCsEQSpaceType Matrixtodetermineapplicability. InreviewingtheEQSpaceTypeMatrix,notethefollowingexamples: Minimumacousticalperformance(IEQp3)appliesonlytoclassroomsandcorelearningspaces.
