Live Music Performance

What are you going to do?


You are going to create and market a band or yourself as a solo artist. You are going to create a website or eBrochure to advertise your band/ solo act. You will create a rehearsal schedule and undertake a risk assessment for the process and the event. You will perform a 15-minute live set of music. You will evaluate the success of the rehearsal process and event.

Activity 1: Selling Your Band


1. Create a name for your band/solo act. 2. Take some pictures of your band/solo act to include on your website or brochure. 3. Create a logo for your band/solo act. 4. Create a one-sentence slogan to sell your band. Remember that simple slogans work best for example Just Do It (Nike). 5. Write an introduction to your band/solo act. Start the sentence with the name of your band and describe the line up for example are an all girl group with 3 members then name the members of the band. 6. State what style of music your band/solo act performs and say what the act would be suitable for e.g. birthday parties, wedding receptions etc. 7. Write one paragraph of about 100 words, which provides biographical details about each member of the band/solo act.

Activity 2: The Repertoire


1. Write a list of at least four pieces/Songs that you will perform at your live event, which lasts for approximately 15 minutes. 2. Provide a copy of the sheet music or lead sheet for each song/ piece that you are going to perform.

Activity 6: The Performance


1. You must make a video recording of your performance (remember the performance needs to last approximately 15 minutes). When you have created your video upload it to YOUTUBE add embed the video on your website or provide a link in your eBrochure.
