Introduction My name is Bianca Lynn Huerta and I am a senior double majoring in Clinical Counseling Psychology and Spanish for Social and Community Services. I became interested in this Computer Graphics course because my friend told me about what computer graphics has to offer and I thought it would be a new experience from what I usually do with art. When it comes to my art experience, I have had classes at the Art Institute for drawing and painting. Now, I have worked on more computer graphics and I learned the skills to create yet another form of art. I hope you enjoy the works I have created in Computer Graphics. These works are shown from the beginning classes throughout the rest of the semester towards the end. Enjoy!

100 Lines Drawings- Wine Bottle CRAFT: Below I have an 100 lines drawing of a wine bottle from the computer lab. While using the brush tool I used a 1 pt stroke horizontally to form the object with lines. Then I used vertical lines to give the drawing another perspective. I also used lines that cross over the horizontal and vertical lines to capture the object, in this case the wine bottle. COMPOSITION: What I plan for the viewer to see first is definitely the areas in which the three types of lines meet each other, and cross each other. CONCEPT: I especially want the viewer to acknowledge the difference in how some lines are closer together than the others (i.e. the neck of the wine bottle has closer lines than the mid-area).

Clean UP!
I clean and shine almost any surface Windex
100 Line Drawings- Windex CRAFT: I started with lines from the bottom and worked my way to the top. This object was made by the brush tool and 1pt strokes. COMPOSITION: What I really want the viewer to focus on is the top part of the object because I tried to form the object with many lines into an image that captures the real object. CONCEPT: Even though this was an exercise from class, I found this Windex bottle warm-up to be very interesting because the class was able to practice drawing the object from the bottom-up and than from the top to the bottom.

100 Line Drawings- Vase (Pottery) CRAFT: In my other one hundred lines drawing I also used the 1pt stroke and this time I started from the top to the bottom. This drawing was made with closer lines. COMPOSITION: What I want the viewer to focus on are the lines that cross each other because of how the lines interact with each other to form the shape of the object. I find this one to be, in a way, my favorite because I tired to give it more of a round look because it was indeed a little bit different with its rounder shape. CONCEPT: I like how all the drawings are just lines but yet they seem so unique and different from each other for example, this vase (pottery) compared to the Windex bottle.

Value Drawing- In-Class: Teapot CRAFT: The way in which I created this value drawing is by first creating a 100 line drawing. Then, I started to pile a middle color grey by just making strokes as an X. This technique was definitely interesting because I started to see how another X can fix another X. COMPOSITION: For this value drawing I used many shades of grey and switched using them when I felt it was appropriate. CONCEPT: What I really want the viewer to notice is the contrast between the dark object (teapot) and the light background.

Value Drawing- Photograph CRAFT: For this photograph value drawing, I started off with a 100 line drawing and used the X stroke technique throughout the whole image. COMPOSITION: What I want my viewer to see is the strong relationship between the values. The reason why is because I want my viewers to notice that it is a hand. CONCEPT: Also, I want viewers to have the feeling that the hand is holding a plant in their hand. The photograph I used was one taken by myself when I was on a Medical Service Trip in Peru. I took a picture of a Peruvian pastor who was explaining about ancient Inca remedies with nature and plants.

FLOWERS
A mothers love is unconditional.
ANALOGOUS- Vase of flowers CRAFT: In my analogous drawing I created five layers. I first started off my drawing with the techniques of 100 lines and eventually creating another layer of blue color Xs. Then, I created a color palette that included analogous hues, such as: blue, blue-violet, purples, pinks and a combination of pink and red. Again, I applied the same brush techniques that were taught in class and added some more colors within another layer. After creating the image, I went back to add shadow colors. As I added another layer I drew a rectangle behind the three layers. I created that specific rectangle layer after a classroom critique, which most had mentioned I should add a background. Then, I added my final background layer which includes a duller purple (this also was added after a classroom critique). COMPOSITION: What I want my viewers to see is a focus on the center of the drawing. What I then want my viewer to realize or rather notice is that this is indeed a vase with flowers in it. Also, that it is sitting on a table. I really do hope I portrayed a three dimensional object, in this case the vase and flowers. CONCEPT: When looking at this drawing for some reason I think of my mother (which is a happy feeling because I love her), so what I want my viewers to feel when they see this is happiness or love. My mother has influenced me in so many ways and has been my flower, my beautiful rose.

The Cross
Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of ones weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart. Mahatma Gandhi
COMPLEMENTARY- Rosary CRAFT: This assignment was created by using four layers. The first layer was made creating and using a yellow brush stroke. With these brush strokes, I created circles and crossing lines. The second layer I made I used purple to create a shade. After creating this purple shade I decided to move the purple shading layer above the yellow circles. The third layer I finished was rectangle- looking image below the two layers by using different shades of yellow and purple. Finally, the very back layer holds a very light or rather dull yellow. COMPOSITION: What I want the viewer to see first is what looks like the very top layer of the this complementary color drawing. I want the viewer to focus on the bright yellow and bright purple object portrayed in this drawing. As stated, I want the viewers to focus on is the "top" layer, which I want my viewers to learn and/ or understand it is a rosary. I also want viewers to recognize a relationship between the rosary and the Holy Bible in the background. CONCEPT: I hope that if the viewer does not know what a rosary is, they can understand that it is something in relation to religion. Since there is a Holy Bible in the background I believe it is something that most people have seen, therefore understand that I am communicating religion and prayer.

Creating Letters!
Small On Top Letters
Craft: This drawing was made by working with Adobe Illustrator. In making this drawing or rather, design, I used the pen tool. Other tools I used were: rulers, grid, guide lines, white pointer, black pointer and of course the fill and stroke of the individual design images. I created these images with the pen tool making a specific number of points and lines. Then connecting them all together I created basically shapes with a surrounding stroke and a red fill. After creating these shapes used the white and black pointer tools to adjust the shapes by its location of points or size, respectively. Composition: What I want my viewers to see is that the shapes I created are smaller at the top. I want others to see that these are familiar shapes but rather they have a different format. Concept: I hope that my viewers realize that these are volume and red filled letters that seem to be smaller at the top, therefore, I call this letter font Small On Top.

Logos CRAFT: This image was made by using the program Adobe Illustrator CC. For this work I used the pen tool as well as the brush tool. In other words I made designs and drawings combined to create this image. COMPOSITION: What I want my viewer to see is that there is a relationship between the top and bottom parts of the image. For example, the top part of the image is supposed to look like it is coming from the bottom part of the image. CONCEPT: What I want my viewer to get from this image is that it is indeed a logo. I want the viewers to recognize that the gray hands and the stem with the leaf are a representation of a plant and the red design is a red planting pot. I also want my viewers to feel as if CBL has a lot to do with the growing of plants, or part of peoples ability to grow in life as sensitive, strong and interpersonal adults.

Logos CRAFT: This image was made by using the program Adobe Illustrator CC. For this work I used the pen tool as well as the brush tool. In other words I made designs and drawings combined to create this image. black drawings were made by using the brush tool and using simple strokes. The red part of my image was made using the Type Tool. Also, with this image I kept changing the colors to see which one would fit best. COMPOSITION: What I want my viewer to see is that there is a relationship between the different colored images. For example, the black drawings are reaching into and circling the middle red type. CONCEPT: What I want my viewer to get from this image is that it is indeed a logo. I want the viewers to recognize that the black hands circling the red CBL type. I want my viewers to feel as if the CBL type unifies all and creates a similarity between all people.

ROSES
Love is a rose and you better not pick it... Neil Young
I thought of the title Roses for this magazine because one influential person in my life was my grandfather, my grandpa Lalo. The connection between my grandpa Lalo and the title Roses is because he loved to plant and he had the most beautiful garden I have ever seen. When I was a little girl, I always thought he had a beautiful and big jungle in his back yard. He had all types of flowers, vegetables, fruits, chiles; anything you name it! However, his most beautiful plants were his roses. When he would come to our house, I remember he would always yell at my mom for not taking care of our own rosebush, but then he would always fix it up and trim the bush. He would always make sure his roses and other peoples rosebushes were trimmed and watered. One event in my life, which I struggled with, was when he passed away and the entire family was in pain because of the impact he had on all of our lives. Although this was, a difficult time my mother and I always look at our rosebush and think of him and all the good times of my life. I also look at the rosebush with so much beauty.
