Social Entrepreneurship Education, Health and Society The aim is to work in improving health and living conditions by means of innovative processes. This module is aimed at people studying to be teachers, educators or students within the eld of health and people who are interested in nding new ways of working to improve health and living conditions. The philosophy of this module is that all over the world we encounter challenges in relation to health and living conditions that create a demand for creativity and new thinking among the professionals who are involved in forming the framework for the development and well-being of children, young people and adults.

You will, therefore, in the course of the module be introduced to innovative methods that create the possibility for social entrepreneurship. You will be challenged as regards your convictions as to what is possible and how these challenges should be met. In other words, a completely different way of coping with professional challenges. You will also work with social entrepreneurship in cooperation with local institutions and schools and in cooperation with Danish students. You will experience Danish culture and be introduced to the Danish welfare system.

IN THIs sEMEsTER YOU wILL HAVE A CLOsE COOPERATION wITH INsTITUTIONs IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
AIMs To gain experience with social entrepreneurship and innovative didactics in working with health and living conditions. To gain insight into how one can work with health and living conditions at an individual, institutional and community level To gain insight in teaching policy in relation to health education conditions To gain insight in the possibilities and challenges in a cooperation between different professional groups To gain insight in theories and methods regarding the interplay between the private sector, the public sector and voluntary organizations for the purpose of creating social entrepreneurship LEARNING AsPECTs Innovative processes and innovative didactics Work with innovative processes to improve health and the quality of life Development of the Danish welfare system An understanding of the professions in the various professional groups in the institutions The relationship between the citizen and the administrative system in a democratic society Normality and deviation, including stigmatization and social differentiation Health concepts: We will strive to uncover different perceptions of health and examine the consequences these have for health improvement and prevention in educational work Professional health investigation and analysis models: we will work with analysis models in relation to the following central concepts: The quality of life, competency to act, participation, life style and living conditions LEARNING OUTCOMEs To use innovative processes and innovative didactics in health work and the quality of life To be able to give an account of how one can work with health and the quality of life on an individual, institutional and social level To be able to give an account of educational practices in relation to health education conditions To be able to identify the possibilities and challenges by cooperation between professions To be able to give an account of theories and methods regarding the interplay between the individual, the institution and society AssEssMENT A written presentation of an innovative concept is to be prepared, subsequently followed by an oral presentation. All students who complete the semester will receive a Diploma and a detailed Transcript of Records with specication of the 30 ECTS.

SUBjECT ETCS COMMENTs ON THE sUBjECT Students will learn to work innovative with challenges in individual, institutional and societal perspective. Special emphasis is placed on sociological concepts such as institutionalisation, social inheritance, power, normality and deviation, and on gaining insight into current issues of social policy. Students will gain insight into and be able to evaluate the relationships between personal health and living conditions, lifestyles and identity. They will achieve an understanding of the signicance of educational practice and social pedagogical institutions for these relationships. Health promotion, preventive health care, creating a culture of wellness, lifestyle, quality of life. Human biology, phenomenology and aesthetics, physical intelligence. Creating a culture of movement, exercise enjoyment, understanding play and games, movement and learning, motor skills and sensory integration. Competition, play, performance, motivation and action competence.

FEEs ANd HOUsING There is no tuition fee for Erasmus bilateral partners of VIA University College. For students from institutions without a bilateral partner agreement the tuition fee is Euro 3200. VIA University College can offer accommodation within walking distance from Campus Viborg. The monthly rent per student is approximately Euro 250. Please note that the monthly rent may be subject to change.
