ABSTRACT

This project demonstrates a technique to receive audio signals and amplified signal send to loudspeaker. Keep in touch with your family members from one room to another and also from outside areas such as the garage, using this intercom circuit for bidirectional communication. The advantage of this circuit is that there is no talk/listen switch as many intercoms have. The circuit is built around two low-power LM386 audio amplifiers. It has two simple and identical channels-unit 1 and unit 2. The gain of both the amplifiers (built around IC1 and IC2) is about 200, which is usually enough to work with the condenser microphones. The circuit also works with carbon microphones or other high-level and low- impedance microphones. The Two-way Intercom feature has similar functionality and activation logic as the One-way Intercom, with the added capability of bidirectional communication (with both send and receive paths) automatically using the speaker and microphone facilities at the destination. Also the intercom is used for purpose of security at many location, like Door bell, offices, etc. The Security intercom systems are used to provide voice communications between two or more locations for security purposes. Security intercom systems are frequently used between a locked building entrance door and a constantly attended location in the building, such as a manned security control room.
