Kevin Flynn o Dr. Flynn has a passion for teaching unlike anyone else I have ever met. He genuinely cares about his students and although he is a very difficult teacher, his challenging questions and exams benefit his students kno ledge more than an undeserved good grade ever ould. Clyde Galbraith o !rofessor "lyde #albraith has had a lasting impact on my career at $est "hester %niversity, even before I decided to come here. $hile attending an open house during my &unior year in High 'chool, !rofessor #albraith made a speech to potential accounting students on the benefits of (ccounting at $"%. I as persuaded to choose $est "hester amongst my ten other possible schools because of !rofessor #albraiths obvious attention to his students. )hree years later, I could not have made a better choice. !rofessor #albraith has helped build the $est "hester (ccounting program into a premier program in the eastern !( region that has led to countless &obs for $"% graduates. *ecause of !rofessor #albraiths hard ork and commitment to student needs I have landed an ama+ing internship for this summer. "lyde #albraith has been a mentor for me in the (ccounting department and I am forever grateful for his help. Peter Oehlers o Dr. ,ehlers has been excellent since the day I first stepped into his class. He is compassionate and very caring for his students. Dr. ,ehlers sa my interest in (ccounting and has helped to get me involved consistently in clubs and opening me up to several firms. I ould vouch for Dr. ,ehlers at any time simply because he ould do the same for me and he ants to see me succeed.
ECONOMICS & FINANCE

Kevin Dunleavy o Dr. Dunleavy is a great speaker. He clearly conveys the points he is trying to make and explains any questions asked. $e al ays get through the material e need to cover and he clearly states hat ill be on the tests. ,ur notes are informative and very helpful. Dr. Dunleavy is a very genuine and kind person. Eric Parnell o !rofessor !arnell deserves to be recogni+ed because he is an a esome teacher. He makes the concepts of finance seem simple and he successfully incorporates real life examples to make the class more interesting. He constantly makes himself available to his students, especially through e-mail. !rofessor !arnell makes it clear that he is here to serve and help his students in any ay that he can. He is definitely the best professor I have had at $est "hester. o Dr. !arnell is honestly the best professor I have had in college. He is a great teacher because he clearly explains the material and relates it to real life examples. He is available at all hours and ans ers his e-mails very quickly. He is extremely approachable and ill ans er any question ith a smile. I am extremely lucky to have him for 'tatistics and Finance. Ryan !eet o !rofessor ' eet has been one of my favorite professors this semester. He really tries to keep the class entertained during the difficult three-hour time slot. he can do to make the material easier to understand and goes at a pace that is easy to keep up ith. He listens to all suggestions made by the class and really tries to relate to his students. "ho#as "olin o Dr. )olin is a fantastic professor ho dedicates his time and energy to his students. His enthusiasm for economics makes the classes he teaches exciting and vibrant.
GEOGRAPHY & PLANNING

$onathan Ba%er o !rofessor *aker is a passionate teacher ho takes great &oy in the sub&ect matter. He makes #eography fun and interesting. $oan &elch o Dr. $elch is a kind oman, al ays illing to ans er students questions and explain lecture concepts. 'he is gentle and helpful hen interacting ith students. During our spring Honors class, she and Dr. Fritchle put together a very informative and educational class on the environment. For our class pro&ect, e ere able to design and plant a vegetable garden. Dr. $elch took great care to make sure the garden had people to tend to it so that it ould gro and be productive. 'he anted us all to experience the &oys of gardening. Dr. $elch deserves this recognition because of her commitment to the success of her students and her desire to see them learn about the fascinating intricacies of nature.
POLITICAL SCIENCE

te'han Clyburn o Dr. "lyburn taught a class on racial and ethnic politics. *ecause this can be a sensitive issue, I as very pleased ith the ay he conducted the class. He as never demeaning at all. He presented the information in a ay that encouraged reflection. His lectures ere al ays thought provoking. He shared some of his personal experiences as ell. ,verall his class changed my perspective on race relations for the better. $ohn Kennedy o Dr. /ennedy teaches hat he kno s in a traditional manner, but he also informs me about his personal experiences or related kno ledge. He al ays keeps me interested in the topics that bored me in high school. His lectures are helpful and are al ays relevant to his qui++es and tests. I ill retain everything I ill learn because of this professor. o He makes concepts a lot easier to understand. He is uses many examples in order to get his point across. His ability to keep the class engaged is ama+ing. o Dr. /ennedy deserves recognition because he is clear and to the point and does not aste time in class. He is extremely kno ledgeable in his field, yet is not condescending to ards his students. )he course material and concepts are made very comprehensible and he clearly states hat should be kno n for the exam. o Dr. 1oedel cultivates in students and the university at large exactly the global a areness and levels of analysis vital to understanding the increasingly globali+ed orld e live in. He is understanding, provides classes ith opportunities for internships, and encourages involvement in discussing current issues and foreign affairs. )ury Pols%y o Dr. !olsky is extremely kno ledgeable and thorough about his material. If he doesn2t kno the ans er to a question, you can be sure he ill have it for you in the follo ing class. He is very punctual and runs the class efficiently. Dr. !olsky never misses a class and allots time in the end of class for questions. He grades fairly and &ustly, his exams are straightfor ard, and he even gives study guides. )his spring ill be the fourth class I2ve had ith Dr. !olsky. He never fails to impress. He understands ho challenging the topics are for undergraduate student to grasp and never belittles us if e dont understand something. He appreciates our minor successes and improvements. Despite the complexity of the material, he makes class interesting and vehemently invites us to discuss and contest the theories ith him as peers. His feedback is honest and helpful. I feel that Im learning in his class, not simply memori+ing. His compassion, quirky sense of humor, and personal anecdotes make the class fly by in a thoroughly en&oyable 56-minute period.
