Re: 20140417-G. H .Schorel-Hlavka O.W.B. to Datuk Seri Najib Razak Prime Minister of Malaysia & Mr Tony Abbott PM- Re: MISSING PLANE

15 Sir, While as a taxpayer I am always concerned about any government spending huge amounts of monies on something, in this case with MH370 I view that monies should not be the issue when it comes to the safety of passengers of MH370 and all and any future passengers. I am not a person who travels much by plane, well they can be counted on one hand over the last 44 years, but still I hold aviation security and safety to be important to all. While I forwarded my original correspondence at 00.10 am to Mr Tony Abbott (and the Malaysian Aviation Department) on 11 March 2014, the letter had obviously been written on 103-2014 but it was too late to send it out on that day and so I dated it 11 March 2014. While Malaysian Aviation Authorities then centred it search narrowly to the route flight MH370 had taken I held it should have immediately, not knowing what eventuated, have used the radius of calculated balance of fuel of MH370 to work out where it could have been flying too in the alternative. If flight MH370 flew into Indonesian airspace to then turn left towards Australia and so its search area) then one has to ask why did the Indonesian Aviation Authorities not then immediately question MH370 of its intrusion onto its airspace? Considering the incidents with September 11 (2001) surely both the Malaysian Aviation and armed forces as well as those of Indonesia should have sought to contact the plane crew and failing to get any response then have sent fighter jets to intercept the plane and accompany it to the certain destination, and force it to land. As such, there seems to be a gross lapse of safety for people in Malaysia and Indonesia to protect it from any possible terrorist attempt to fly a plane into a major city. If authorities responsible for air safety and national safety cannot manage their jobs then so to say heads should roll and more competent persons appointed to do the job. In my view, whenever a plane goes missing the immediate strategy must be to warn all nations within the radius of the estimated left over fuel (the distance the plane can fly) as to a missing plane and to be on the lookout for it in case it was hijacked and used as a flying bomb, etc. This kind of warning not only alert other countries but also may serve that the relevant authorities might be alerted to look out for the plane that is reported missing and if it is located or any plane is noticed not to show any flying authority in its airspace then the Aviation authority issuing the warning then can be notified. It means avoiding a waste of time on searching for a plane in a certain area if the plane was noticed to fly in a different area and so couldnt have crashed in the search area.

Also, where there were various other issues such as the ping issued by the Rolls Royce motors used in the missing MH370 then the company from onset should have been asked to provide details. I raised weeks ago about the issue of mobiles having been used by anyone aboard and it now is claimed that the co-pilot tried to use a mobile. Surely if this eventuated then this could have been known within 24 hours after the plane went missing? . What should be understood is that there were not just passengers aboard but also crew members. They may have been more than likely trained what to do in emergency situations. And while it might be taken that most passengers may have been asleep the crew would not have been. This then poses the question did any of the crew members seek to use a mobile? Surely, flight attendances may have noticed the plane to divert from its original route and may have wanted to notify relatives or others of a delay in coming home or to the overnight stay. Even if it was presumed that theMH370 purportedly went to a height of about 45,000 feet and so passengers would generally have been without air other then those who had taken a mask that provides for about 30 minutes sufficient air, the cabin crew however would have been awake to be able to take a mask and generally have access to further back up supplies held in storage for them. Hence, even if the Pilot/Co-Pilot had taken the plane of course then the cabin crew could have taken certain actions. Previously I recommended to have a plane doing the assumed travelling of MH370, but using dummies in its place, albeit loading it with weights to mimics the same total weight of the plane, and then see how a pilot and co-pilot fly the plane on the assumed traveling of MH370 and what the crew could have done to alert friends and family or authorities if they held the plane went of course but were unable to contact the pilot/co-pilot. There are various issue to be considered: 1. WEATHER 2. MECHANICAL FAILURE 3. HUMAN INTERVENTION (a) Pilot/co-pilot (b) Cabin crew (c) Passenger(s) (d) Combination of any of the above 4. OUTSIDE INTERVENTION (a) Remote control taking over the plane flight ability (b) Forced landing by fighter jets (c) Blackmail or other threats upon pilot/co-pilot 5. COMBINATION OF ANY OF THE ABOVE

It had been reported that pings were heard in the search area near Australia and then others some 40 360 kilometres away. It may mean traveling so to say black boxes (flight and audio recorders). The question then is could the pings have eventuated by say a submarine travelling through the search area and later releasing the black boxes through its torpedo holes so that they land on the ocean floor, which reportedly may have 10 to 20 meters soft ground and so the black boxes may easily sink down never to be found. Obviously, for any submarine to dispose of the black boxes 45 in such a manner it would have only been able to do if the plane had landed somewhere and the black boxes were then dismantled from the plane. The purpose might have been to side track any investigation pretending that MH370 was drowned at sea while it still, may be standing on a landing strip or parked between a hosts of other planes not noticeable to others it is there. After all, hide a car in a car yard of a wrecker and unlikely it would easily be spotted. The same with a 50 plane. Remember in time of war submarines would use their torpedo port holes to release oil to pretend having been sank, as to deceive enemy ships that were using depot charges.

It should be kept in mind that if MH370 was hijacked then it is essential that this is borne out by a proper investigation and not let go by with the passing of time, until another plane goes missing. Finding the wreckage of MH370 is no answer unless the missing crew and passengers can be located also. After all the plane may have served its function and crew, passengers and cargo have been unloaded and then the plane black boxes removed and the plane then dumped at sea and the black boxes then dumped by submarine to divert the search to another area. In my view what you have to do is to ask yourself what would you do if you had to mastermind a hijacking of a plane for whatever reason and the lives of the passengers or most, and so the crew, of them was not an issue as they are disposable? While it was reported that the Rolls Royce engines in MH370 were still sending out pings for about 7 hours after the last contact with the plane flight crew, this doesnt need to mean the plane was still in the air. Remember the incident where a plane landed but the engine kept running for some other 2 or 3 hours and finally the fire brigade was able to get it stopping running by poring ongoing water into the engine. So, who is to say the plane may have landed by the engine(s) kept running, so as to perhaps throw of investigators? Was there any cabin crew and or passenger(s) which had experiences how to fly a plane? Did any of the flight crew, pilot, co-pilot, passenger(s) know each other as to have prior to the flight made a deal to hijack the plane? Was HM370 equipped with remote control that could override the pilot/co-pilot ability to fly the plane? Uruguayan rugby team survived for more than 70 days after their plane crashed! Let us therefore not assume all aboard of flight MH370 are dead!

25 It should be very obvious that for any of the crew members not to have attempted to have contacted family, friends or even authorities then what could have been so drastically to prevent them doing so? Other than teargas or other gas thrown into the cabin by the pilot/co-pilot it seems to me that reasonably a crew member could have had time to notify authorities and others 30 about MH370 turning of its designated route. Therefore, again, I view that a re-construction of the flight should take place with timing all events and then later having these details on the ground a variation of possible scenarios then can be tried out to see what could have prevented at least one crew member to use his/her mobile to warn about the plane going of course, etc. 35 Without seeking to blame the co-pilot, one can make a call and let the phone ring ( a number of times) while the person receiving the call has no need to pick up the phone or answer the mobile call, because he/she may know that the ringing itself is a certain message. As such, what should be investigated is if there was an alleged call by the co-pilot then to whom was it made. I used to have an arrangement with my wife, before I retired, that I would let the phone ring 3 40 times and then hang up, and then immediately call again and then she would know I was the one calling. As such, I can understand others likewise may use this kind of a system to pass on a message. To others without a need to speak to each other. We cannot and must not give up on those missing of flight MH370 nor can we ignore the problems that may eventuate if this plane was hijacked and the same could eventuate with 45 any other plane because authorities fails to investigate appropriately. Awaiting your response, G. H. Schorel-Hlavka O.W.B. (Friends call me Gerrit)
