The drawbacks to the use of nuclear powers means it is not a long term solution to the problem of everlasting energy

needs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------There is no perfect energy source. Each and every one has its own advantages and compromises. Nuclear power is once again considered a prominent alternative, despite the disr egard it was met with in the 1970s. This is because it s now being touted as a mor e environmentally beneficial solution since it emits far fewer greenhouse gases during electricity generation than coal or other traditional power plants. It is widely accepted as a somewhat dangerous, potentially problematic, but manageable source of generating electricity. Radiation isn t easily dealt with, especially i n nuclear waste and maintenance materials, and expensive solutions are needed to contain, control, and shield both people and the environment from its harm. Firstly, increasing population and the reserve of global energy that is decrease d. In 2011, the earth is habited by 6 billion people. Based on data from United Nations Long-Range World Population Projections, the world population in 2015 wi ll increase to 7.2 billion, in 2025 rose to nearly 8 billion people and will bec ome 9.3 billion in 2050. Rapid world population growth will result in a deprecia tion of non-renewable natural resources too quickly. This is because to supply w orld energy needs, in which the global primary energy demand reaches 87% and ele ctricity by 63%, derived from fossil fuels. Therefore crude oil with a capacity that is available globally amounted to 1195 billion barrels, can be used up to 4 3 years. Coal, with global reserves of 1316 trillion tons will be used up over 2 31 years. While the global reserves of natural gas has 144 trillion m3, can be u sed no more than 62 years. Global uranium reserves estimated about 4,36 million tons. In a nuclear reactor, nuclear fuel that has been used can be recycled, if this is done at a nuclear power plant in the world, all the rest of the uranium can be a supply of energy for thousands of years. Beside that, in the world also know there are 4 billion tons of uranium in low concentration in the ocean and there are thorium, other substances that can be used as nuclear fuel, as many as three times the amount of uranium. Therefore, nuclear energy can be used millio ns of years. Density of nuclear energy is higher than coal and petroleum. As the illustration , in 1 kg uranium can produce about 50.000 kWh-50.000 kWh of electrical energy, 4 kWh. On a non-nuclear whereas in 1 kg of coal and petroleum can produce 3 kWh power plant with capacity 1000 MWe need 2,6 million ton of coal or 2 million ton of petroleum as fuels. On nuclear power plant with same electrical capacity jus t need 30 ton uranium with reactor terrace 10 m3 as a fuels. Currently, nuclear energy to supply the world s primary energy demand about 6 % and supply global ele ctricity demand about 17%. On the other hand, many people refuse the existence of nuclear energy plants. It s related with reactor safety and radioactive waste output are included in the ca tegory of toxic waste. They trauma with utilization of nuclear energy, it origin ated from the fact that the utilization of nuclear energy is for the purpose of war for example in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. It s also because leakage of some event s, such as at Chernobyl and Three Mile Island. Catastrophe in second place was a lways become a reference to many people to reject the presence of nuclear power plants. The second issue that triggered many people to reject the presence of nuclear po wer plants are about radioactive waste. In operation, the plant will produce rad ioactive waste that are included in the category of special dangerous waste. Nuclear waste can actually be overcome by using green rust of reinforced concret e. This is observed by scientists spent many years to prevent the formation of g reen rust in reinforced concrete because it is considered a problem. However, th e results showed that green rust can be useful to cope with nuclear waste. Green rust is mud that containing not yet fully rusted iron. Bo Christiansen from Cop enhagen University, said that can help confine neptunium waste, a byproduct of u ranium reactor which has a part-time more than 2 million years. In closing, nuclear energy is environmentally friendly energy source that can so

lve many problem of energy crisis. So I can surely say benefits of nuclear techn ology far outweigh the disadvantages and can be a long term solution to problem of ever increasing Energy needs.
