Dear Friend of the Berkeley Chess School:

On Sunday, May 23rd from 2pm6pm, the Berkeley Chess School, a 501(c)(3)
non-proft organization dedicated to to sharing the benefts of chess with young
people in schools and tournament play, will host our spring fundraiser event. A
Castle for Caissa is a sunny outdoor party on the spacious grounds of Berkeleys
Hillside School with a variety of fun chess activities including simuls and bug-
house, live music, food and a silent auction. Our goal is to secure a permanent
home for the Berkeley Chess School; a center to further develop the role chess
plays in educating children. This building is a crucial need if we are to continue to
provide chess instruction for children in the years to come.
We invite you to contribute to our school by donating goods, services or gif
certifcates to be used at the fundraising event or sold at our auction.
We have been recognized with numerous grants and awards for our work helping
generations of children learn and grow in potential through the medium of chess
for over 28 years. Your donation will help us to continue this good work while
bringing your business publicity and goodwill among our parent body and
extended community of over 5000 alumni and friends. All event donors will be
included in our event program, website, and newsleters.
Thank you for your continued support. In order for your name to be included in
our fundraiser publicity, please submit our atached donation form with your
contribution by May 7, 2010. All contributions are tax deductible. (BCS Tax ID:
#94-3225242) We will follow up with you in the coming weeks should you have
any questions or you can contact us directly at 510-843-0117.
Warm regards,
Elizabeth Shaughnessy
