INTRODUCTION

The main aim of this bulletin is to serve as an example of a business plan for a business plan developed using the format from EB 2002-06, that demonstrates the marketing potential and the financial feasibility for a helmet producing industry that sell at price points above Rs200 per piece. The plan has three major components. The first component emphasizes the plan of operations to the management team for the helmet industry The second component is the development of a marketing strategy that will differentiate the companys helmet from other helmets in the market. The third component of the example business plan estimates the investment and operating costs for the industry producing the highest quality helmets. The overall goal of the project is to develop an optimal marketing strategy, ecological and safety practices, and evaluate the economic feasibility in producing ultra-strong helmets.

1) To develop a strategy for successfully marketing best quality helmets throughout India at moderate price point (i.e. Rs200 per piece) from the ----region of Chennai.. 2) To develop cash flow estimates for 10 years in the development of the prototype helmet industry to determine the economic potential. 3) To assess the risk of investment in the model industry to economic parameters such as helmet prices, interest rates, raw material prices, and equipment costs.

Executive summary
The proposed helmet manufacturing industry will be located in the ------ region of Chennai. Annual production will begin at 5.25 lakh pieces in year one and will increase to 7lakh pieces in three years. The industry will produce the following 3 types of helmets: Full face helmet, Motocross helmet, flip up helmet, open face helmet, half helmet. The majority of helmets will be in the companys showroom but as production increases we will utilize other distribution channels () to reach our customers. The key to the industrys success will be its best quality, aesthetic design and customer satisfaction. Research shows that the sales of the product has drastically increased at present and is expected to double up in the upcoming months. Few industries concentrate on the quality of helmet while most give importance to cost and reduce quality which would differentiate us from local competitors. The following table summarizes the amount needed each year to establish the proposed industry. The money will be used to construct the Industry and show room, purchase the necessary helmet making equipment, labor charges and cover the Annual operating expenses.

The source of the above investment is through a bank loan of Rs.15 crores which is received from IOB -----Branch under land surety.
