Wall-E for Grandparents

Wall-E was truly a stunning film, and really made you think about how humans live. This movie showed how the smallest thing that we think about, garbage, can really affect life conditions on Earth. The film made me think more about how taking care of the earth is so important. The idea of a relationship between two robots is an astounding idea. Being grandparents in all, I think that this really brings out a certain aspects of Wall-E that sums up the good and the bad of our generation. As I watched this movie, I was truly astonished with certain aspects- the story, the characters, even the animation. The Pixar developers didnt really tell you much about the setting, but by looking around, you could tell where it was. Wall-E is set in the year 2800 on planet Earth. There are no humans on Earth because they evacuated into space because of all the trash humans have thrown away, and now there is no room for humans to live. When you look around, you see towers of trash that have been organized by the Wall-E robots. If you think hard enough, you can see how this is a secret message put in the movie by Pixar showing you that humans need to recycle more. Pixar really worked hard to put such an original plot together for this movie. The main plot idea is that a company called Buy and Large (BnL) sends all the humans away to space in a ship called the Axiom, and leaves thousands of robots called Wall-E to clean up the trash that has swarmed the face of the Earth. One of the main problems with the Wall-Es is that they die if a sandstorm hits them. After BnL figured this problem out, they sent in a new model of robots called, Eva. Only one Wall-E survives the sandstorm, and when he finds Eva, their relationship slowly progresses. The Pixar developers really did a phenomenal job on the development of the characters. Eva

is the most developed character in this movie because at first, she thinks Wall-E is a distraction and doesnt realize that he is lonely and all he wants is a friend. Another example of a good developed character is Wall-E. Wall-E doesnt understand why Eva is on Earth with him, but as he observes her, he comes to the conclusion that she is looking for life forms, not for him. Throughout the movie, Eva and Wall-E develop one of the most extraordinary relationships in any movie. I think Pixar really tried hard to make this relationship between Wall-E and Eva slowly develop throughout the whole movie. This is why I was truly astonished with certain aspects- the story, the characters, even the animation. Wall-E won a total of 32 awards worldwide. The plot and the character development make up one of the most extraordinary animated movies ever. Pixar did a fantastic job on inserting a valuable message into this movie about making sure we take care of our planet as best we can. I think Wall-E will be watched for generations to come.
