Note : No additives for improving the viscosity index can be contained. The brands of steam turbine control fluid in Lubricant list in O&M manual are only permitted to use for the control fluid system of this turbine.

* Viscosity range allowed for equipment is rather large. But judge how hydraulic fluid is deteriorated according to manufacturer's recommendation to the same level of new fluid value within 10% as other plants.

* TARGET shall be SAE grade 2 for normal control which has sufficient margin and the same as for similar plants where high pressure control fluid is used. Control the operation in terms of inorganic chlorine. No limit value is specified for the equipments. However, in conformity with the fluid manufacturer's recommendation, set the level to 50 mg/kg max. the same as other plants and observe the trend.

: The oxidation stability test need not be always conducted at the time of delivery. It might be replaced by the sample test. : If an abnormal condition is found, then the test interval shall be shortened. : If total acid number exceeds 0.1 mg KOH/g or water content exceeds 0.1 wt% for continuous two test periods, the exchanging interval for earth filter is shortened from every 5 months to every 2 months. If total acid number exceeds 0.2 mg KOH/g, change the earth filter media to alumina filter media [from HILSORB (manufacturer : HILCO) to SELEXSORB (ditto)].
