3 teens allegedly raped by 'textmates'

Two men have been arrested by police for allegedly raping 3 teenagers in Nueva Ecija. The suspects allegedly uploaded a video of the act on the Internet and used it to blackmail the victims.
Investigations showed that the teenage girls did not ask permission from their parents when they met with the suspects, who were described as the girls "clan" or textmates. Hintayin daw po yung mga members ng clan. Tapos habang nag-aantay, naglabas ng inumin, said Jenny, one of the victims.

In a 2008 online study done by Stairway Foundation, it was found out that 8 out of 10 online chatters initiated sexualized conversation with a 14 year old girl.

Developing Childrens Online Protective Behavior (e.g. recognizing unsafe online situations, blocking, etc)
Pulling them back to reality once in a while. (e.g. reminding them that they still have offline friends)
If your child is facing a cyberbullying problem, make sure that: The childs social media account is set to private That the child understands that he/she shouldnt reply to the cyberbully That child blocks the persons who cyberbullies him That screenshots are taken and chatlogs are saved of the cyberbullying incidence in order to serve as future evidence That as a parent, you talk to the school administrators about it if other students are involved
Always tell children that if they feel confused, scared or angry, they can talk to you about anything, and that you would understand and face the concerns with him/her.
As adults..
Learn to understand, appreciate and enjoy positive net culture
Always maintain an dialogues with children about online safety
Because children and young people themselves are the richest sources of information on what they do online today.
Yes there are risks, but what we have to do is to manage these risks so that children and young people can enjoy a positive net experience.

Stipulates prohibitions on possession, access, production, hosting and distribution of child pornography (including simulated child porn)
